Are Barcelona really down and out this time?

Are Barcelona really down and out this time?

Barcelona have done it again. The once unstoppable La Liga favourites have fallen short against their first-leg opposition once more among the bright lights of the Champions League, this time at the hands of Massimiliano Allegri and his impressive Juventus outfit.

We all know how effective Barca can often prove when playing within the limits of their own home turf, but as Juventus will likely be thoroughly prepared when the two sides next meet at the Nou Camp – Luis Enrique’s side certainly have yet another massive uphill battle on their hands if they are to successfully see themselves through to the Champions League semi-finals.

Although the Catalonian giants aren’t quite down and out just yet…

…the writing certainly looks to be planted right there on the wall for Barcelona…

Yet perhaps Luis Enrique’s proud side can still turn things around…

…and if they somehow do manage to overturn their sizeable first-leg deficit…

…big questions will have to be asked…

Certain Barca players have subsequently received their fair amount of criticism…

…and even though Barcelona clearly have a way of pressuring top-flight referees…

…it’s hopefully going to take more than just a few well-placed dives to see them through this time…
