Both Teams to Score Tips
Anybody who watched Spurs v Everton last weekend can’t have been convinced by Everton’s defensive display. It was littered with errors and they weren’t at their best. They’re much better at Goodison but did recently concede three times to Bournemouth. The Toffees have plenty of goals in them and are bound to create chances at home. West Brom need to pick themselves up from the disappointment of losing 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace last weekend. The Baggies have hit goals on the road recently with 2 at the London Stadium, 2 at St Marys and 1 at the Riverside (it should have been more). Two of the last three matches between these sides have seen BTTS land.
Preston v Reading – BTTS
Reading keep it tight and secure at home, but they are fairly open on the road and rarely keep clean sheets. Their only shutout came against a poor Birmingham side at the end of January. They’ve recently conceded three to Brighton, two to Ipswich and three to Derby. Jaap Stam’s men also have goals in the side and should give Preston a few problems. The hosts drew 1-1 with Derby thanks a last minute goal from Tom Barkhuizen in midweek. BTTS has landed in each of their last four Championship games and prior to that had netted against Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds and beat Brighton.
Gillingham v Scunthorpe – BTTS
The Gills have been an excellent source of BTTS this season and Ady Pennock’s side are struggling to keep clean sheets. They picked up an important victory last weekend against Bury, but still managed to concede in the process. Scunthorpe are always good for a goal but their defence isn’t helping their push for promotion. They got back on level terms against Charlton at the weekend, but still managed to muck it up, conceding a late penalty. BTTS has landed in each of Gillingham’s last 10 matches whilst it’s landed in 4 of Scunthorpe’s last 5.
AFC Wimbledon v Northampton – BTTS
Sticking with League One for this final selection. Northampton have also been a bundle of BTTS joy this season especially since Justin Edinburgh took over. The former Gillingham boss has seen midfielder Jonjo O’Toole rediscover his scoring touch lately and they’ve been firing plenty of goals in. They’ve conceded 17 goals in 5 away matches and surely AFC Wimbledon will find a way through. After a strange spell, AFC Wimbledon have rediscovered their goalscoring touch and have netted 7 in their last 5.
