Both Teams to Score Tips this Weekend
Blackburn v Preston – BTTS
A tasty Lancashire derby which ended 3-2 earlier in the season. Tony Mowbray is now in charge of Rovers and his side remain unbeaten during his tenure. They showed great spirit to comeback twice against play-off chasing Fulham and secure a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night and they should be able to get on the scoresheet here at Ewood Park. The former Celtic and Middlesbrough manager has tightened up the leaky back-line, but they still offer a threat going forward with Marvin Emnes and Danny Graham a lively front two. Preston were excellent against Reading last weekend and Tom Barkhuizen is in flying form. The former Morecambe man netted twice and will be a thorn in Rover’s backline.
Cardiff v Ipswich – BTTS
If you like a bet on a correct score, this one has 1-1 written all over it. Cardiff are in decent form but are struggling to keep clean sheets and let Birmingham hit back last weekend. After two clean sheets in three (one was against Rotherham though…) the Bluebirds have now conceded 6 in 4 and could concede again here. Ipswich are the 1-1 specialists in the division and are struggling to put sides away. It’s now 6 consecutive draws for Mick McCarthy’s side, 5 of those have ended 1-1. They’ve kept just two clean sheets since the end of November and are liable to concede on the road again here.
Bradford v Swindon – BTTS
Bradford have been a gift to BTTS backers this season and landed the spoils again in midweek with a 1-1 draw at Charlton. They are back in West Yorkshire for this battle with relegation haunted Swindon. The Bantams have failed to score just once in 2017 and should find a way past The Robins. Swindon’s defending left a lot to be desired against both port Vale and Sheffield United inside the last seven days and Bradford could grab a couple here. Swindon are in a battle at the bottom and have shown plenty of threat going forward. They’ve hit 6 goals across their last 3 away matches and should get on the scoresheet.
Crewe v Colchester – BTTS
Crewe have been keeping clean sheets on the road recently as they start to improve under Dave Artell, but at home it’s been a different story. BTTS has landed in each of their last three home matches and they’ve conceded 5 goals during that period. With Chris Dagnall and Jordan Bowery leading the line, they always offer a threat. Colchester have had a mixed campaign but have a very talented winger in the shape of Brennan Dickenson. They haven’t kept a clean sheet on their travels since Boxing Day and have failed to net just twice away from home since early December.
