Cardiff vs Fulham predictions and football betting tips for the FA Cup on Sunday 8th January with the best odds for each selection and reasons for our bet tips.
Two Championship sides meet in the FA Cup third round on Sunday afternoon as Fulham visit the Cardiff City Stadium. We have three tips for the match.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock was very bullish following his sides 1-0 win against Aston Villa on Bank Holiday Monday. Joe Ralls scored the only goal of the game, but he didn’t know too much about it. ‘They all count’ is the old adage and this one was certainly an important one. Three points moved them up to 19th in the table and put a poor run of form behind them. Warnock rued his side’s late collapse against Barnsley and Brentford, but they held firm against the former Premier League side and secured the victory.
Warnock declared his side will kick on from this and they’ll stop giving away soft goals. Time will tell whether he’s correct. He has admitted he’s likely to heavily rotate for this fixture with a number of fringe players likely to play some part. It’s likely to be a talented XI, but some unfamiliar names will get the chance to impress against the Cottagers.
The Bluebirds have lost just one of their last five home games and are always extremely tough to beat here. Fulham were extremely unlucky to leave Craven Cottage with nothing to show for it. They had the best of the first half and missed a penalty before Brighton eventually turned the game on it’s head with two quick fire goals.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have had an excellent couple of months in the Championship and have been steadily climbing the table. They’ve got plenty of firepower and determination in abundance as they displayed in their recent 4-4 draw against Wolves. Stefan Johansen and Floyd Ayite have been scoring plenty of goals for the West London club in the process.
The former Watford man will have to be careful how he handles the Chris Martin situation with the Derby man refusing to play for the club and demanding to return to the Rams. It’s a blow for Fulham, but they’ll look to sign a striker who is committed to the cause.

Cardiff are set to make changes for this – Ben Amos, Jazz Richards, Semi Ajayi, Craig Noone, Stuart O’Keefe and Lex Immers could all be given a start here. Peter Whittingham, Kenneth Zohore and Matt Connolly could all take a place on the bench.
Fulham are unlikely to make as many changes but Matt Smith is likely to lead the line. He will want to make an impression with rumours of a return for Ross McCormack.
