The in-form Crawley Town welcome the much troubled Portsmouth to the Broadfield Stadium for their League 1 encounter this Sunday.

It seems as though the Premier League season has only just started to get going only to be interrupted by one of those loveable international breaks, however we still have a host of lower league football to keep us entertained and this fixture could provide just that, with both sides knowing where the goal is.

Crawley have made a flying start to this League 1 season, winning three of their first four matches and sitting fourth in the table, confidence is high in this reds team and they are coming off the back of a 3-2 victory over Gillingham in the Johnsons Paint Trophy midweek.

Portsmouth haven’t quite had the same high flying start and are still searching for their first victory, however this is more than understandable considering the club almost collapsed this summer. The financial problems at the club are well documented however Pompey still have an excellent fan base and team spirit in abundance, this will only have improved after their Penalty shootout victory over Bournemouth in the Johnsons Paint Trophy this week.

As far as this Sunday is concerned however, I can’t see this being Portsmouth’s first win of the season, Crawley have proved their ability to find the back of the net and Portsmouth have conceded in every game this season, I can see this being a game of many goals but it’s a Crawley win for me.
