Toothless Wales travel to Serbia for the second round of the World Cup qualifying campaign to face a Serbian side in as woeful form as they are.
Serbia are the favourites at 1/2 whereas a Wales win can be backed at 7/1. The draw is on offer at 33/10. All odds with Bet Victor, who seem to have the monopoly on market prices for this game.
I didn't watch the Chris Coleman press conference before this game, because quite frankly that sounds like a spectacularly dull way to spend an hour, but those that did have told me that Chris Coleman thought that whilst Gary Speed's Wales team got results, they were too predictable and lacked a plan B. So what Coleman did was get rid of all the plans altogether, and instead decided to just lump the ball up the pitch. Chris Coleman's record reads played four, lost four. Scored zero, conceded seven. Serbia boast a much better attacking record recently - they've actually scored. Once. In a 2-1 defeat. Serbia's recent record is played six, lost three, drawn three (all 0-0) scored one, conceded six. They couldn't even score against Scotland on Friday for Christ's sakes!
So two teams, neither in any sort of form, neither able to score in the proverbial brothel, two new managers struggling to get their ideas across to their teams, both missing key players (Wales are missing Bellamy and Allen, whereas Siniša Mihajlović is practically crawling on broken glass to get Vidic & Stankovic out of retirement...) it's got draw written all over it, hasn't it? Back the draw at 33/10 with Bet Victor, and back under 2.5 goals at a frankly ridiculous 8/11, also with Bet Victor. In fact, go as far as backing the goal-less draw at 9/1, also with BetVictor.
If Wales are to finally score, In Bellamy's absence it's almost certainly going to come from Gareth Bale, who is a very high 16/1 to open the scoring. Joe Allen's absence means that Aaron Ramsey is going to have to provide him the ball in the right areas, and not simply punt the ball up to the strikers. However, IF there is to be a goal, we fancy another Premier League Stalwart, Branislav Ivanovic to score it. He's already scored twice this season for Chelsea, and is a whopping 25/1 to open the scoring, again with Bet Victor.
