With the Champions League kicking off on 18th/19th September now looks a good time to look at some of the latest betting odds for the opening round of Champions League matches.

Few people would argue that the flagship Champions League clash on the opening week is Real Madrid vs Manchester City but there are other mouth-watering ties such as Bayern Munich vs Valencia, Manchester United vs Galatasaray and Borussia Dortmund vs Ajax.

There is no other place to start that at the Bernabeu where La Liga champions Real Madrid host Premier League champions Manchester City. Real Madrid are currently top price 13/20 to win the match, the draw is 3/1 with Bet365 and Man City are 5/1 with Bet Victor.

Given the talents of the two teams on show it looks set to be full of goals and a bet on Real Madrid to score over 2.5 goals at 2/1 with Sportingbet.

The other game from Group A sees Borussia Dortmund take on Ajax. Dortmund are 8/15 to win with William Hill, the draw is 10/3 with Stan James and Ajax are 6/1 with Bet365.

Although Ajax have a plethora of young talent at their disposal, Dortmund should have enough to win this one and a bet on Dortmund to win by two or more goals should be a winning bet at 7/5 with Paddy Power.

On Wednesday Manchester United and Galatasaray meet at Old Trafford and the home side are strong favourites in the betting at 2/7 with Bet365. The draw is 19/4 with Bet Victor and Galatasaray are currently top price 10/1 with Paddy Power.

Manchester United will look to get off to a fast start here so bet on them to score in the first 30 minutes of the match at 4/5 with William Hill.

Last season’s losing finalists Bayern Munich play Valencia in their first game of this year’s Champions League at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich are 1/2 to win the match with Ladbrokes, the draw is 16/5 with Sportingbet and Valencia are 13/2 with Bet365 to cause an upset.

Bayern are formidable at home and Valencia have not had the best start to the season. Back Bayern Munich to be winning at half-time at Evens with Sky Bet.
