Brentford are having a fairly mixed season with nine wins, 10 defeats and four draws in their 23 league matches. They’re currently in 11^th place and are 11/4 to finish in the top half. Spurs are having an awful time of it at the moment and manager Ange Postecoglu is feeling the pressure. They’re nine points outside the top half in 15^th place. For a top half finish, they’re 9/4.

Brentford vs Tottenham Predictions

I think this game could go either way, so I’m staying away from backing a winner. However, I do think there will be plenty of action and plenty of goals. Ange Postecoglu’s swashbuckling style of play will mean they’ll go all out attack again, meaning there’s a decent chance of Spurs scoring and conceding. Despite being in 15^th, Spurs have scored 46 goals, third highest in the league. For Brentford, both teams have scored in six of their last 10. I think both teams will get on the scoresheet here. I’m going for Brentford striker Bryan Mbuemo to score or assist. He’s having a decent season so far, and finds himself on 14 goals and three assists in his 23 league appearances. He’s also made one assist in the Carabao Cup this season. I think this one will be and to end, and with Mbuemo’s good record so far this season, I think there’s a great chance of him being directly involved in one of Brentford’s goals. We’re backing two players to be carded – Rodrigo Bentancur and Christian Norgaard. Bentancur has been booked five times in the league this season, in just 13 appearances. He has also picked up two yellow cards in the Europa League in seven matches. He averages well over a foul per game, and I expect he will make a couple here, too. Norgaard has five yellow cards and one red in all competitions this season, with four bookings and a red in the league and one yellow card in the Carabao Cup. He averages just under 1.5 fouls per game, and will be in for a tough afternoon against a physical Spurs midfield. Both players are good odds for a booking here.
