The BBC have announced their pundits for the 2018 World Cup with a brilliant video featuring Gary Lineker creating a messaging group and getting some of the best known faces in football together for Russia.
The likes of Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand are in the party heading to the World Cup as BBC pundits but Alan Shearer is left sitting opposite Lineker in the Match of the Day studio, still waiting his invite from the BBC front-man. Other big names in the World Cup squad of BBC pundits include Didier Drogba and 1990 World Cup winner Jurgen Klinsmann. With the nations already announcing their World Cup squads, the countdown is on to the first match between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
There is also a debut for Pablo Zabaleta and England’s women’s player Alex Scott has made the plane to Russia.
As well as the BBC World Cup 2018 pundits, Guy Mowbray, Steve Wilson, Jonathan Pearce, Steve Bower, Simon Brotherton will be in the commentary box and Vicki Sparks will become the first female to commentate on the World Cup on British TV. Kevin Kilbane and Mark Lawrenson will be two of the co-commentators calling the 33 matches the BBC will show live from the 2018 World Cup this summer. The BBC will have a Moscow studio as their Match of the Day base.
