It’s a battle between the top two in Sunday’s late kick-off as league leaders Arsenal travel to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Gunners are looking to extend their lead at the top, while Chelsea hope to cut the gap to just three points.
Chelsea are having an excellent season so far, with seven wins, two draws and three defeats, leaving them just six points behind Arsenal at the top of the league. If they can win this weekend, we’ve got a real title challenger on our hands.
Arsenal are widely regarded as one of, if not the best team in Europe this season. They come into this one off the back of a 3-1 win over Bayern Munich, and have won nine of their Premier League matches so far, drawing two and losing just one.

BEST BET BUILDER TIP – Arsenal to win @ 5/4
Arsenal are absolutely flying this season and are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, looking unlikely to be removed from their mantle in their current form. The Gunners have won 16 of their last 19 matches in all competitions, with their only defeat this season coming away against Liverpool. They have drawn with Sunderland and Man City, and are unbeaten in their last 16. Chelsea are in a great run of form and come into this one unbeaten in six, with just one draw in that time – a 2-2 in the Champions League against Qarabag. Their last defeat came at the end of October against Sunderland. Despite their good form, I can’t see past an Arsenal victory, and for Mikel Arteta’s side to extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points.
ALTERNATIVE BET – Arsenal or draw @ 3/10
Chelsea are in good form, so you might not want to bet against them getting a result. Taking double chance: Arsenal or draw at 3/10 is a slightly safer option, but reduces the odds to 12/1.

Chelsea haven’t conceded in their last three, but it’s unthinkable that Arsenal won’t score, given they have scored in each of their last 16 matches in all competitions. The Gunners, as well as being league leaders, have scored the joint most Premier League goals with 24 in 12 matches. They’ve also scored 14 in their five Champions League outings this season. Chelsea have scored 12 in the Champions League and 23 in the Premier League. Both teams have scored in each of Arsenal’s last three matches. Between these two, both teams have scored in three of their last five meetings. I think that will happen again this Sunday.
Eberechi Eze over 0.5 shots on target (41/50)
Former Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze has been electric for Arsenal of late, and I’m backing him to have at least one shot on target here. He has scored five goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season, with four in 11 in the Premier League and one in the Carabao Cup. He also scored three in six in England’s World Cup qualifying campaign. In the league, he has had 12 shots on target, giving him an average of more than one per game. I expect this one to be an entertaining, end-to-end encounter, and think Eze will register at least one shot on target.
Marc Cucurella to be carded (11/4)
Chelsea’s Spanish full-back Marc Cucurella has been carded four times this season – twice in the Premier League and twice in his two Carabao Cup appearances. In the league, he has made a total of 15 fouls, giving him an average well over one per game. At left-back, he will be coming directly up against Arsenal’s star boy Bukayo Saka, who has drawn a massive 23 fouls in 10 league appearances, an average of more than two fouls against him per game. Saka will give Cucurella a headache this weekend, and I expect him to have to make a couple of fouls against the winger. He’s good odds to pick up his fifth booking of the season.
