Crystal Palace host Man United in Sunday’s lunchtime fixture this weekend, with both sides coming into this one off the back of defeats, with Palace losing to Strasbourg and United tasting defeat at home to Everton.
Palace have had a good season so far, with five wins, five draws and two defeats from their opening 12 Premier League matches. They are fifth in the table, just three points off Chelsea in second.
United are only two points behind Palace, but find themselves in 10th position in the league. They’ve also won five from their first 12, but have faced defeat more than Palace, with four losses.

Crystal Palace have had an excellent season so far, with Oliver Glasner’s side sitting in fifth position, just three points off second. They have lost only two league matches this season (the second lowest amount, behind league leaders Arsenal, who have lost one), winning five and drawing five. They’ll be keen to turn more of those draws into wins and keep the pace at the top end of the table. They haven’t lost a home match in the league this season, with their only defeat at Selhurst Park coming in the Europa Conference League against AEK Larnaca. United haven’t won in three, and they’ll find it difficult to get much out of Palace here.

Jean-Philippe Mateta has had a decent season so far, with six Premier League goals in 12 matches. He has also scored once in the Europa Conference League and once in the Community Shield. In the league, he has had 33 shots, 15 of which have been on target, giving him an average of more than one shot on target per game. He has had seven in six in the Conference League, and two in his one League Cup appearance this season, meaning he averages at least one in every match. I think they will create a good amount of chances here, and he’s a shoo-in to have at least one shot on target.
Casemiro to be carded (2/1)
In just 11 Premier League appearances this season, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has already been carded on seven occasions. He has been shown yellow six times, with one red card coming against Chelsea back in September. He has made a total of 12 fouls in the league, meaning he averages just over one foul per game. With a card awarded to him every 113 minutes so far this season, there’s a good chance of him picking up yet another booking this weekend.
