Shakhtar Donetsk vs Inter Milan: Inter Milan to win

Both teams go into this game having lost the first game, so they will be under pressure to deliver. Shakhtar were surprised by minnows Sheriff Tiraspol, losing 2-0 away, while Inter lost to Real Madrid, thanks to a late Rodrygo winner.

Inter haven’t passed the group stages in the previous three seasons, and a defeat in Ukraine would ring alarm bells once again. They had a turbulent summer, losing star players such as Lukaku and Hakimi, so they have to deliver or they risk fans turning on them. This is a must-win game for Inter, so it won’t be easy, but they just have to win.

Score Prediction: Shakhtar Donetsk 0-1 Inter Milan (15/2)

AC Milan vs Atletico Madrid: Spoils to be shared at San Siro

Milan are back in the Champions League after 7 seasons, but they have started their campaign with a defeat against Liverpool at Anfield, which showed that they still have a lot to do to be considered among the top teams in the competition.

Atletico are very experienced in the Champions League, but they have had an inconsistent start to the season. They drew their first game against Porto, so both teams head into this game in need of points. The last time they faced each other was in the 2013/14 Champions League season in the Round of 16 when Atletico swiped the Italians 5-1 on aggregate. It won’t be easy this time around, so we back a stalemate at San Siro.

Score Prediction: AC Milan 1-1 Atletico Madrid (7/1)

Borussia Dortmund vs Sporting: Sporting to get thumped again

Dortmund go into this game probably as group favourites, and they showed it in the first match against Besiktas away, which is always a hot ground for the travelling team. They know that a win here will bring them closer to the Round of 16, especially considering that Sporting were thumped 5-1 by Ajax in their first game.

These two teams were also in the group stage in the 2016/17 Champions League season, when Dortmund won both games, and eventually progressed to the next stage as group leaders, while Sporting were out of the competition finishing fourth. We predict an easy win for Borussia Dortmund.

Score Prediction: Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Sporting (17/2)

Porto vs Liverpool: Klopp’s side to win an entertaining match

These two teams face each other very often in the last few seasons in the Champions League, and they always provide good excitement to those watching the game. Porto held Atletico to a goalless draw in the first game of the campaign, while Liverpool showed their force with a 3-2 win against AC Milan.

These teams played against each other 6 times so far in the Champions League, and Porto are yet to win against the Reds, getting just two draws and losing four times. Liverpool are clear favourites here, and we expect Klopp’s men to secure all three points.

Score Prediction: Porto 1-3 Liverpool (12/1)

PSG vs Manchester City: City to come out on top in a thriller

The game that we all look forward to, and rightly so. Two of the biggest favourites to lift the trophy at the end of the season go head to head in Paris on Tuesday. PSG are yet to find their best form, but it is understandable, given the changes they made in their squad during the summer. Even players like Messi and Ramos need some time to adjust to new surroundings.

That was evident in the first match against Club Brugge, where PSG barely had a sniff on goal. City, on the other hand, started the campaign with a thriller against Leipzig, winning 6-3 at the Etihad. Last season these teams faced each other in the semi-final, and City put in a dominant display home and away to secure a place in the final. This is a game that can go either way, but we will go with an optimistic away win prediction, which will increase the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino.

Score Prediction: PSG 2-3 Manchester City (20/1)
