The first day of the 2019 Cheltenham Festival is over but we’re back with day two and our accumulator comes in at odds of 353/1 with bet365. We’d recommend an each-way bet on this 4-fold at big odds.
The first selection for today’s accumulator comes in the second race, the RSA Chase. Delta Work is the strong favourite and one of the most fancied of the Gordon Elliot runners this week after a faultless first season chasing. He could be a tough horse to beat given that his main betting rival and well fancied Le Richebourg was withdrawn last week. Of the other contenders, Santini has had some issues leading up to the Festival and might not even run, but Topofthegame might be something special and he’s the main danger to the selection.
The big odds selection of this accumulator comes in the puzzle that is the Coral Cup. Cracking Smart is the pick as he could be a very well handicapped horse – he chased Tiger Roll home to finish third in the Boyne Hurdle most recently and put up an impressive display when splitting Next Destination and Duc des Genievres in a Grade 1 last season in Ireland. The Stayers was an option but this rain will help and if he gets a strong pace to run at, Cracking Smart could be a great each-way bet here.
One of many peoples banker of the week is last year’s Grand National winner Tiger Roll. He also won this race 12 months ago and there is nothing to suggest he won’t do it again. On his last run he wasn’t expected to win after the trainer Gordon Eilliot said he wasn’t 100% for the reappearance but his performance was brilliant and if he comes to Cheltenham in similar shape to last season, he will be rellly hard to beat.
Evnvoi Allen from the Gordon Elliott stable has been the long-term ante-post favourite for this two-miles flat contest, and he has won all three races to date this season at restricted short odds. Most of his victories have been more workmanlike but there has been evidence of the battling qualities sometimes needed at Cheltenham. However, he will be opposed by the Willie Mullins trained Blue Sari who created a favourable impression when winning at Gowran Park back in January. He could improve from that solitary appearance.
Our top choice for a Cheltenham bookmaker is bet365 – when you get a winner at 4/1 or bigger on a race, you get a free bet to the same value on the next Cheltenham Festival race e.g. if you’d have bet £20 on Klassical Dream in the first race yesterday, you’d have got a £20 free bet for the second race.
