Coutinho finally concludes his big money move
This season’s most highly coveted top-flight transfer is finally reaching a much awaited conclusion. Philippe Coutinho looks set to join FC Barcelona for a reported £142 million, sending certain Liverpool fans into complete meltdown all across the internet.
Most Anfield-goers will be sad to see him gone…
Disappointed Coutinho has gone, never thought he’d turn into the players he’s become when I first played with him, but he’s been a great @LFC player these last few years. 142 million though! Just need to use the money better than we did when Suarez left!!

The early indications seem somewhat worrying for Liverpool…
Jurgen Klopp has failed to hold onto Coutinho and Emre Can, but embraced Milner, Lallana and Hendo. When big clubs come calling for Mane, Bobby & Salah will he fail to convince them to stay too?

…especially in light of what Jurgen Klopp has previously said on the subject…
"I wasn't manager when Suárez was sold. I wasn't manager when Sterling was sold. I'm manager now and we're not selling Coutinho."

…the Reds are concerned over their immediate future…

They could end up spending the money rather effectively…
Liverpool signed Torres for £20m and sold for £50m.
Suarez signed for £23m and sold for £65m.
Sterling signed for £600k and sold for £49m.
Coutinho signed for £8.5m and sold for £144m.£253.9m profit from four players!

…for Klopp now has enough resources to adequately compete for the title…

Yet if the Reds fail to win a major trophy soon…
Coutinho leaving because of lack of silverware is partially understandable & is a problem we’ll face with other players if we don’t start challenging. Players, especially from abroad won’t want to stay at a club having won nothing in their 5 years. Harsh but it’s reality.

…and Barcelona begin to dominate Europe with Coutinho on board…

…questions will continuously be asked of Liverpool’s so-called ‘big club’ status…
Well sad to see Coutinho leave he is a stunning midfielder….but we must go on and invest well with the £142M.
Been a joy to watch at Anfield, unbelievable transfer fee 😮 pic.twitter.com/WQw0dRWRz7
