Europa League tips for Thursday night’s first leg fixtures. We’ve picked out three selections from the competitions using a range of different markets, and we’ve included the reasons for each pick and a £40 sign-up bonus to spend on the action.
The first of our Europa League betting tips comes from Portugal as Benfica host Eintracht Frankfurt. It’s been a wonderful season for the Bundesliga side, who have yet to be defeated in 2019, and arrive here off the back of a 15-game unbeaten streak. They currently sit in fourth position, and they will be full of confidence coming into this quarter-final tie.
Adi Hutter’s side are a joy to watch, and they love to pour forward at every opportunity. The magnificant Luka Jovic is ably assisted by Sebastien Haller and Ante Rebic, and they could all chip in across the two legs. They are one of the most exciting sides to watch in Europe, and they have scored plenty of goals in this competition so far.
They netted at the San Siro during the last round, and they’ve got on the score-sheet in every single away tie in this competition. A superb record which should continue here.
Similarly, Benfica usually find the net in front of their own fans, and Galatasaray became the first team to stop them scoring here since 2008 in February.
They come off the back of a 4-1 demolition of Feirense at the weekend, and have plenty of firepower to call upon.
The first of our betting tips is Both Teams to Score? Yes.
The second of our Europa League betting tips comes from this all-Spanish affair between Villareal and Valencia. Valencia’s 17-match unbeaten streak came to an abrupt end at the weekend, but there could have been some fatigue present from their 2-1 victory over Real Madrid just three days earlier.
Villareal are desperately scrapping away at the bottom of the La Liga table, but they’ve been formidable in this competition, and they’ll fancy their chances of getting something from this tie.
However, Marcelino comes up against his former club, and he’ll be desperate to get back to the Mestalla unscathed. Valencia are very well-organised, and they are incredibly hard to beat, and they would be happy to go into the second leg on level terms.
Villareal are in decent goalscoring form at the moment, but Valencia will be getting back to basics after Sunday’s defeat, and they could be difficult to breach.
It will be all to play for in the second leg, and Los Che will fancy their chances of progressing in the front of their own fans.
There won’t be much between these two sides.
Chelsea face a tough test in their quarter-final match against Slavia Prague, and although they are odds-on to win this first leg, it might not be plain sailing for Sarri’s men.
Slavia Prague dispatched of Sevilla in the last round, netting three times in 90 minutes, and they will be lively in the final third once again.
The Czech side know that they have to find the net here in order to stand any chance of progressing. They are going to get very little change at Stamford Bridge, and this is their opportunity to take a lead to West London in seven days time.
They scored against Zenit and Bordeaux here earlier in the competition, and Chelsea’s defence will have to be on high alert.
The Blues had it easy on Monday night against West Ham, and it’s a quick turnaround for them here. Away from home, they conceded to Malmo, and twice against MOL Vidi, and they’ve been unable to keep an away clean sheet in the PL since the end of 2018.
It’s 6/10 for Slavia Prague just to find the back of the net here, and that is the third of our betting tips.
