Fantasy Football Captain Advice and Tips for Gameweek 6

Fantasy Football tips

Last week was a disappointing gameweek for anyone who opted Raheem Sterling or Kevin de Bruyne as captain. Sadio Mané and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang proved to be two of the most profitable captaincy choices for those who backed them. Here are some of our picks for the gameweek 6 armband.

Captain Option 1 – Raheem Sterling (12.3m) vs Watford

Back to back blanks don’t bode well for the City wide man heading into gameweek 6. Sterling has failed to register a goal or an assist in games against Brighton and Norwich. Sterling has played every minute of the Premier League season so far and with five goals in his first three games remains a good choice. City face bottom of the table Watford who have conceded two goals a game heading into this fixture. Guardiola will demand an improvement from the Norwich game, so do not be surprised to see a repeat of last season’s FA Cup Final.

Captain Option 2 – Sergio Aguero (12.1m) vs Watford

Aguero has maintained his remarkably consistent form this season. He has scored in every gameweek so far, leading the scoring charts alongside Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham with seven. Gabriel Jesus’ return from injury remains a looming threat to Aguero’s game time, particularly with the Champions League underway. Nevertheless, the Argentine is clearly first choice  and we rested in the midweek trip to Shakhtar so looks to be a reliable choice ahead of Watford’s visit to the Etihad.

Captain Option 3 – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (11m) vs Aston Villa

Another consistent performer this season is Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon international has scored or assisted in every gameweek, netting five and assisting one. A brace against Watford in his last game emphasises his goal threat. Last season’s joint-top goalscorer is yet to miss a minute of Premier League football and is capable of scoring against anyone.

Recommended FPLCaptain for Gameweek 6

Having lost their first match of the season, this is not the time to rest their top goalscorer. For that reason, we’re opting for the consistency of Aguero for City’s game against Watford.
