FPL Gameweek 28: 3 striking stars you should be looking to bring in

Premier League betting tips

As Manchester City picked up their first piece of Silverware of the season, Pep Guardiola will be looking for his side to reclaim top spot by the end of Gameweek 28.

With only a matter of days separating the fixtures, Premier League games are starting to come thick and fast.

As the table really starts to take shape, the battles in FPL are becoming more important by the week.

Ahead of a Gameweek 28 that includes Tottenham’s trip to Stamford Bridge, we have looked at three attacking options all FPL bosses should be looking to bring in.

Raul Jimenez – £6.8million

With Wolves still firmly dreaming of a European finish this season, it has been the ongoing form of forward Raul Jimenez spearheading their charge.

Finding the net at the Vitality on Gameweek 27, Nuno Espírito Santo’s leading man now has four goals in his last four Premier League appearances.

Arguably the biggest bargain buy in FPL this year, Jimenez’s 131 points tally sees him sat only behind the attacking trio of Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the overall charts.

Now picking up 30 points in just his last four Gameweeks, the 27-year-old has also impressed on his appearances away from Molineux.

Jimenez has found the net in his last two matches on the road and should be looking to extend that tally on Tuesday night.

Traveling to the John Smith Stadium on Gameweek 28, Wolves will face a Huddersfield side that already have one foot firmly in the Championship.

Now under the guidance of former Borussia Dortmund coach Jan Siewert, the Terriers have lost their last five matches on the bounce and have not picked up a victory since Gameweek 13.

Even more worrying, Tuesday’s hosts have now conceded 11 goals in just their last five Premier League matches in West Yorkshire.

Given Huddersfield’s woeful defensive displays, coupled with Jimenez’s red hot form, the Mexican international could be a steal for FPL bosses at just £6.8million.

Alexandre Lacazette – £9.5million

With leading goalscorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having to settle for a place among the substitutes for Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Southampton on Gameweek 27, Unai Emery may have a new #1 choice up top.

Once again finding the net against the Saints on Sunday, Alexandre Lacazette is enjoying arguably his brightest spell of the season.

Now owned by just 10.5% of FPL bosses, the Frenchman has now bagged four Premier League goals in his last five appearances.

Also picking up four bonus points in his last two Gameweeks, Lacazette’s overall tally of 129 sees him one of just two Arsenal players to break the 100 point barrier.

Sat fifth in the FPL attacking charts, the former Lyon man has saved his best performance for North London this campaign.

The Gunners’ in form man has scored in each of his last four Gameweeks hosted at the Emirates and could have a golden opportunity to extend that tally on Wednesday.

Hosting Bournemouth on Gameweek 28, the Cherries have now lost their last eight top-flight matches on the road, a run that stems back to the end of October.

Conceding a remarkable 23 goals on that away losing run, Lacazette should be confident of enjoying another successful Gameweek in North London.

Sergio Aguero – £11.6million

If you’re one of the lucky FPL bosses to have some extra money in the bank ahead of Gameweek 28, then there is only one man you should be looking to bring in.

Helping Manchester City pick up their first piece of Silverware on Sunday, Sergio Aguero is one man who appears to be just getting better with age.

Rightfully owned by 33% of managers across the county, the Argentinian marksman has 17 Premier League goals to his name and shares top spot with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Bagging two hat-tricks in his last three appearances, Aguero is averaging 10 points per Gameweek over his last five outings.

Now scoring every 99 minutes this season, the 30-year-old also holds the best minute per goal ratio in the top-flight.

Coming up against West Ham on Gameweek 28, FPL bosses should see Wednesday as a golden opportunity for Aguero to extend his tally.

Former City boss Manuel Pellegrini has seen his side record just one clean sheet since Gameweek 27.

It will particularly be their showings away from the London Stadium most worrying Hammers fans.

Despite sitting in the top half of the Premier League table, Wednesday’s visitors have failed to win any of their last four matches on the road and are yet to record an away clean sheet in 2019.

With City looking to reclaim their spot at the top of the table, it could also be a wise move to hand Aguero your triple captaincy.
