Is this recent Manchester City acquisition really worth the hype?

After turning out a series of impressive displays for German outfit FC Schalke 04 among the Bundesliga last season – and subsequently going on to briefly represent Joachim Low’s world champions at Euro 2016 this summer – Manchester City’s latest big money acquisition, Leroy Sane, certainly arrives with a fair amount of hype and sensation already loosely attached to his name.

 

The 20-year-old German will look to make a meaningful mark upon the English game on the back of a ridiculously hefty £37 million transfer fee, but whether or not such a high stakes gamble will really pay off within the grand scheme of things, remains something of an undecided factor right in the here and now.

 

Most Premier League onlookers nonetheless remain rather impressed with what Leroy Sane will supposedly bring to the English top-flight next season…

 

 

…even if £37 million does in-fact seem like a staggering amount of cash for a largely untested player in the cold light of day…

 

 

Such a notion has seemingly failed to deter the excitement from drifting in and around the Etihad in recent weeks however…

 

 

…yet will his big money arrival at Manchester City subsequently signal the end for Raheem Sterling? We shall have to wait and see…

 

 

In the end though, many City fans seem rather made up with Guardiola’s recent big money acquisition at their club…

 

 

…and even if it does indeed take a brief bedding-in period for Leroy Sane to truly show his worth among the Premier League…

 

 

…the early indications nonetheless look pretty strong for both the player himself, as well as Manchester City as a whole!
