James McCarthy tackle on Payet – What Twitter and Payet had to say

There has been some serious fall-out on Twitter this week following James McCarthy’s tackle on Dimitri Payet and the fallout is going on, and on……and on.

Dimitri Payet has taken to social media to assure the West Ham he will be back even stronger, let’s just hope he stays out of James McCarthy’s way. Payet uploaded a video of the tackle to his Instagram page with the message "Hey guys just a little feedback just wanted to say that I'm recovering. I'm gonna work even harder and I will be back stronger. See you soon Hammers"

The Twitter fallout from this McCarthy tackle has been blown well out of context with some West Ham fans brining the name of Howard Kendall into their ‘banter’, as expected the Everton fans and fan account such as @Evertonarentwe and @grandoldteam had a very different view on the tackle that McCarthy was only cautioned for.

A search of ‘McCarthy tackle’ on Twitter brings up some brilliant Tweets and we have put the best of them below. It’s safe to say that the fan rivaly between West Ham and Everton supporters will not be dying down after their latest encounter.

Everton fan account @Grandoutteam had their view on the McCarthy tackle with this rather one sided poll:

Another Everton account got a shock when watching The Apprentice:

And the famous @Evertonarentwe couldn't help but laugh as this West Ham fan:

West Ham fans also had their say on the tackle and they didn't hold back, by their reactions Payet will be lucky to walk again, never mind play football.

This fan called for a ban on McCarthy, despite Payet playing on and McCarthy already getting a booking.

And this West Ham wants McCarthy banned for life after he made a tackle in a contact sport.

Last season the same player was booked for a tackle on Morgan Amalfitano, the West Ham fans are a very one sided bunch though, who could forget this horror tackle from James Collins against Watford that rightly seen him red carded?

The video below shows that James Collins tackle and if you ask us, he should never play professional football again.

Dimitri Payet will be out for three months and we wish him a speedy recovery.
