Watch: Benfica Wonderkid Scores a Hat-trick in Europa League Quarter-Final

Remember the name – Joao Felix. The 19 year old Benfica star has already attracted the attention of some of the biggest teams on the planet, and he enhanced his reputation with a hat-trick against Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter final.

There has already been interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona for the services of the Portuguese youngster, and last night’s performance will only enhanced his reputation around the continent.

After Frankfurt were down to 10 men early in the match, Felix scored the opening goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 21st minute.

His second goal was the best of the three, firing a low drive into the corner from 20 yards out. That gave Benfica a 2-1 lead after Frankfurt had got themselves an away goal.

After completing his hat-trick in the second half with a brilliant one touch finish, emotions got the better of the youngster when he collapsed to his knees in tears.

Where will Joao Felix be playing next season?

There has already been interest from a number of clubs around Europe including Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League, but Benfica will want to keep hold of their prodigy for as long as possible, however, Felix himself has said:

‘My dream has always been to play for the big teams and in the big competitions.

‘But I’m here and I’m very happy with Benfica, which, like those teams, is also a big one in Europe.’
