Midweek European Betting Tips

Espanyol vs Celta Vigo Betting Tip – Over 2.5 Goals

The first of our midweek European betting tips comes from La Liga with a lively game expected at the RCDE Stadium. Espanyol have had a late-season resurgence, and are currently embarking upon an unbeaten run. After a wobble, they’ve got back on course, and have been defeated just twice in 12 matches (vs Barcelona and Sevilla). Since drawing a blank in Catalonia, they’ve now scored seven times in four matches, and have netted exactly two goals in each of their last three matches.

They are clearly playing with confidence, and they should be able to play their part in an entertaining fixture on Wednesday night. They haven’t been able to keep a clean sheet at home since January 4th, and I expect them to concede here.

Celta Vigo have managed to pull themselves clear of the dreaded dropzone, but they can’t take their foot off the gas just yet. Their away form is still troublesome, but they are scoring goals again, and Iago Aspas appears to have hit top gear. They’ve scored 11 times in five matches, and notched three at Huesca recently.

Games between these sides are always very entertaining, with recent fixtures between the pair ending 1-1, 2-2, 2-1 and 2-2.

Leganes vs Athletic Bilbao Betting Tip – Leganes Draw No Bet

Leganes’ home form is absolutely sensational this season, and that’s the reason why they are subject of this evening’s European betting tips.

The hosts have the fifth best home record in La Liga, and they recently held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw here. Only two sides have won here (Villareal and Girona), and they have beaten Barcelona, and stopped Atletico leaving with all three points.

They have conceded just six home goals in eight matches, and are averaging less than a goal conceded per game across the season as a whole.

After an initial upturn in results following the appointment of Gaizka Garitano, Bilbao have now levelled out. They tend to struggle for away goals, and they may find it difficult to find a way through. They have failed to net in each of their last two trips to this stadium, and the home side could keep them off the score-sheet once more.

Athletic Club are also conceding silly goals, and shipped twice at home to Vallecano recently, and they come off the back of a heavy defeat to Real Madrid. They’ve kept just two clean sheets all season on the road with Huesca one of just two sides failing to find the net against them.

This game should go the way of the home side.

FC Utrecht vs Fortuna Sittard Betting Tip – Utrecht Win and Over 2.5 Goals

Our final European betting tip for Wednesday comes from the Eredivisie with FC Utrecht hosting poor-travellers Fortuna Sittard.

The visitors have essentially secured their place in next season’s top flight, but it’s their home form which has kept them competitive this campaign, and they just don’t seem to turn up for away games.

Fortuna Sittard have picked up just eight points on the road all season, which is worse than NAC Breda, who are rock-bottom of the table. They recently got thumped by 5-0 by Zwolle, whilst they conceded three times to Willem II and lost 6-0 at Heracles.

FC Utrecht aren’t on the beach just yet, they do still need to pick up points in their quest for European football, and although they’ve drawn many games recently, they are always tough to beat at home. They recently beat feyenoord 3-2 at this ground, and I expect them to take advantage of a winnable home fixture.

The last time they faced one another here, Utrecht won 3-0, and a similar score-line is expected once again.
