Ronaldo fails to shine in El Clasico heartbreak…
Despite currently residing as one of the standout players of his generation, Cristiano Ronaldo clearly endured something of an El Clasico to forget when his fellow boys in white came up against a triumphant Barcelona side in last night’s hotly anticipated fixture.
The game was eventually won by a late Lionel Messi strike – something both Cristiano Ronaldo and his dejected Real Madrid teammates could ultimately do little to prevent, regardless of the undoubted level of talent and prowess that remains prevalent at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo’s failure to produce has certainly got people talking out there…
Ronaldo misses an open goal and messi wins the match with 2 great goals, even after that tackle from Ramos. Argument over. #ElClasico #Messi

Although there are those who are seemingly willing to back his cause until the very end…
Ronaldo is my favourite soccer player of all time but Messi is the greatest soccer player of all time

The Euro 2016 winner has been criticised heavily in the wake of his most recent performance…
#Ronaldo is so greedy, hardly looks for the smartest option, in his team-mates. Going for Glory.

…even those who seem to like him, just can’t deny his overtly selfish nature…
Ronaldo is a rather sweet person. But he is very selfish when it comes to games, unlike Messi.

Whilst Cristiano Ronaldo certainly remains one of the greatest players of all time…
How can anyone genuinely criticise Ronaldo? Always the main man for the greatest moments. Unbelievable. A phenomenon.

…comparisons with his little Barcelona counterpart simply fail to hold up in the cold light of day…
It's the volume of Ronaldo's goals that make him great. It's the volume & brilliance of Messi's which might make him the greatest #ElClasico
