Saturday’s Football Tips – Bristol Rovers, Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday Tipped to Land our 14/1 Treble

Sheff Wed predictions

My addiction for League One continues this week and all 3 bets come from there for our Saturday football tips across the 3pm kick-offs.

I couldn’t have been more confident of a big Peterborough win last week and I take that confidence into this weekend by backing 2 of the promotion hopefuls again. The table is taking shape already and I can see the current top 8 occupying those positions at the end of the season.

We’re using The Pools for today’s tips because they’re giving new customers £20 in free bets when you bet £10. For example, bet £10 on this Saturday bet and win or lose you get £20 in free bets.

Potsmouth to beat Port Vale – (6/4)

After a slow-ish start, Pompey are now flying after 3 wins and 9 goals in a week has seen them shoot up to 3rd in the table. They are scoring goals from all around the pitch and despite a bad injury to Louis Thompson last weekend, I fully expect them to take 3 points from their trip to Vale Park.

Port Vale have started well and them sitting in 10th place on 7 points represents a solid start for Darrell Clarke’s men. That said, I feel they are probably in a false position and have taken advantage of playing weaker opposition. They haven’t come up against a team like Pompey yet and I feel they will fall short against the free-scoring blues. Pompey to win is the bet here.

Sheffield Wednesday to beat Forest Green (-1 Handicap) – 7/4

Wednesday have had a bit of a stop-start beginning to the season but last weekend’s win at Bolton will have steadied the ship and confirmed them as one of the favourites for promotion. Their points tally is actually a good return for the difficult fixtures they have had so far. They have played 4 of the top 7 already and I firmly believe those 4 teams will be vying for promotion this season.

FGR started the season well with a win at Bristol Rovers but have only picked up 1 point since. They have played a game fewer than the rest of the league due to a postponement so their league position may not truly reflect their start. However, I’m willing to take them on and after a 3-0 loss at home to Plymouth last week, I believe they are in store for something familiar this weekend.

I’m confident enough to find more value in this game by backing Wednesday on the -1 handicap.

Bristol Rovers to win vs Shrewsbury – 31/20

Only 1 point separates these 2 teams here but I think Rovers are a good price to return to winning ways at The Mem. With 2 away defeats at Barnsley & Pompey behind them, being back at home will prove to be the key. Rovers are still a few players short and will be busy in the last week of the window but I’m sure they will have enough to get through the Shrews.

Shrewsbury are goalless in 4 of their opening 5 league games. The 2 goals they have scored have come from a penalty and a long throw and that rings alarm bells for me. They haven’t had the easiest of starts and have still picked up 5 points whilst keeping 2 clean sheets.

The think the game will be low-scoring but I’m backing Rovers to have the edge in the final 3rd and make home advantage count.
