Saturday’s Football Tips – Three Bets from Different Markets for the 3pm Kick-offs this Weekend

After focusing all my attention on the EFL in recent weeks’ football tips articles, I dip my toes into the Premier League for the first time this season.

The other 2 of my bets come from the bread and butter of League One though on the back of 2 winning bet (7/2 and 6/5) selections from last weekend. I’ve been quite adventurous this week and I’m backing a couple of draws and a team on the -1 handicap.

Fulham vs Brentford – Draw (12/5)

Both teams have had a good start to the season picking up points in both games they have played in and I can see both teams adding to their tally in this London Derby. Both teams have goals in them and I can see an end-to-end game ending all square.

Brentford were impressive in coming back from 2-0 down at Leicester and followed that up by taking advantage of a terrible Manchester United display last week. Fulham caused Liverpool no end of problems on the season’s opening day, and I think they will be difficult to beat at Craven Cottage this season. The draw looks the bet here and I think it’s the best value bet in the Premier League over the weekend.

 

Bolton vs Sheffield Wednesday – Draw (5/2)

Sticking with the draws, I’ve headed into League One and picked out a game I think will be evenly matched. Bolton have started the season well and were unfortunate to go down to 10 men early last week at Port Vale, which made taking 3 points more difficult. They’ve won all 3 home games this season (2 league and 1 cup) and anyone coming to the University of Bolton Stadium will have to be right on it if they want to take any points away with them.

Sheffield Wednesday have had a mixed start to the season and haven’t really got going yet. They went down to 10 men early in midweek at Peterborough and were disappointing in a 2-0 defeat. I believe Darren Moore will get a reaction out of them though and I can see them being harder to beat as a result of that defeat on Tuesday. I’m surprised Wednesday are favourites to win here as I wouldn’t bet against Bolton (especially at home) against anyone currently but I do think they will come away with a point. Both teams have drawn 3 games between them so far this season and I can see this one ending all square too.

 

Peterborough to win (-1 handicap) vs Lincoln (2/1)

2 games played, 5 goals for and 0 against reads very well for Peterborough at home this season, 1 of which was a straightforward win against league favs Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night. Although their away form hasn’t offered the same consistency (1 defeat and 4 goals conceded), they are a different team on their own patch and can score goals from anywhere (5 different scorers in those 5 goals scored). For this reason I see nothing but a posh win and im confident enough to tip them on the handicap market. I think a price of 2/1 to win on the -1 handicap is a great price for our Saturday football tips.

Lincoln won at Oxford in midweek but that was them taking advantage of a Oxford team low in confidence and form. They are unbeaten so far this season with 3 draws coming before Tuesdays nights first win but I believe their luck is going to run out on Saturday.
