Hammarby vs Goteborg – Over 2.5 Goals

We’re starting in the Swedish Allsvenskan with one of my favourite teams to watch – Hammarby. It’s been a terrific season so far for the hosts, although they suffered a defeat on the road going into the International Break. It allowed the teams above them to pull away, and it also meant that striker Nikola Djurdic will miss this game through suspension. That is a blow to Hammarby, but their slick passing style should help them create plenty of chances in this game. They are the highest home scorers in the league, and Over 2.5 Goals has landed in all but two matches here. May 10th was the last time the fans witnessed a game with fewer than three goals at this ground, and that came against a Sirius side whose away games average less than two goals per match. Visitors Goteborg are also in good form and are nine unbeaten on the road. They’ve scored eight times in their last three matches, and have seen two of their last three away games land Over 2.5 Goals. It ended 0-0 in Goteborg earlier in the campaign, but the last teo meetings at this ground have been thoroughly entertaining, and this one should follow suit.

SPAL vs Lazio – Over 2.5 Goals

We’re heading to Serie A for our second betting tip, and the Italian top flight should continue to deliver on the entertainment front. SPAL lost their opening game 2-3 here against Atalanta, before flopping away at Bologna. In fairness, they probably should have scored in that contest, and created enough chances to do so. They also looked a little open at the back and will offer Lazio chances in this game. Le Aquile drew 1-1 in the Derby Della Capitale last time out, but it was an open game in which both sides could have scored multiple times. Lazio rattled the woodwork on multiple occasions, and on a different day, could have won it 3 or 4-1. They hit three past Sampdoria on the opening day of the season and will be confident of finding a way past their opponents. Two of the last three meetings between these sides have been goalfests with 4-1 and 5-2 wins for Lazio, and I’d expect plenty of goalmouth action in this one.

Roma vs Sassuolo – Over 2.5 Goals

Sticking with Serie A, this 5pm KO in Stadio Olimpico could be another entertaining tie. Both teams have found the net in the last six meetings between the pair, and it’s hard to see this ending with fewer than three goals. Roma have drawn both of their first two games, but they have a number of players returning from International duty in good form. Henrikh Mkhitarayan is yet to start, but could be unleashed in this one, and the Armenian will look to create plenty of chances. Roma look far from assured at the back, and it’s something that Paulo Fonseca will look to work on. His side got lucky against Lazio, with the woodwork helping them out on numerous occasions, and the addition of Chris Smalling doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence. Sassuolo have been in decent goalscoring form themselves, scoring five times so far. Domenico Berardi will look to be amongst the goals once again, and is likely to be in the thick of things once again.

Rapid Wien vs Admira – Over 2.5 Goals

We’re off to the top flight of Austria for our final game this afternoon. Rapid Wien have had a mixed start to the campaign, and sit in mid-table. They have won just one of their first three home matches, although they have netted in the last two. This is a much easier task for the home side, and they should enjoy hosting the Bundesliga’s bottom club. Admira went down 3-1 at home to Mattersburg prior to the International Break, and they’ve conceded an eyewatering ten goals in three matches on their travels. They’ve also conceded nine times in their last three visits to this stadium, and were defeated 4-3 at home when the sides met back in May. There’s always plenty of goals between these two sides, and another entertaining game is expected.
