Sheffield United vs Queens Park Rangers
West Brom vs Norwich
Preston vs Swansea
Shrewsbury vs Charlton
After their surprise 1-0 FA Cup home defeat by Barnet last weekend, Sheffield United resume their Championship campaign with the aim of winning a third successive league game at Bramall Lane. The Blades netted three times in each of their two previous home matches and also claimed a 3-0 win at Wigan at the beginning of the year. After losing their first two games of December, visitors QPR are unbeaten in six games and have netted at least twice in four of those matches. Rangers have scored in each of their last five away games.
Following the dismissal of Grant Hanley after just fifteen minutes last weekend, Norwich were beaten 1-0 by Portsmouth in FA Cup action when conceding a very late winner. The in-form Canaries had previously failed to net just once in fourteen prior Championship games scoring at least three times in seven of those games. Hosts West Brom have also been reliable in front of goal during recent weeks having netted in their last eleven competitive fixtures, and they are unbeaten at the Hawthorns since late October.
In each of their competitive fixtures at Deepdale this term, Preston have scored at least once although they were surprisingly beaten 3-1 by Doncaster at the venue in FA Cup action last weekend. However, the Lilywhites have scored at least three times in four separate league games on home soil since early October. Visitors Swansea have failed to score just once from mid-October onwards, and they have also netted nine goals in their last three games while scoring at least twice in their four previous matches on away turf.
Although they featured in a 1-1 home draw with Sunderland last weekend, both Charlton and the Black Cats could have scored more goals in an open affair. Visitors Charlton have found the net in each of their League One fixtures since the beginning of November with hosts Shrewsbury also becoming reliable in front of goal. The Shrews netted in every league game from November onwards until denied by Fleetwood earlier this year, and they are unbeaten at the New Meadow in six league fixtures.
