Liverpool will know an away goal should be enough to win them this tie.

Porto are fantastic at home and always score goals there.

They overcame a first leg deficit in the last round against Roma, so cannot be written off.

Porto vs Liverpool Preview

Both of these sides are still in titanic battles for league titles domestically so there was no way they could rest all their players at the weekend. Porto won 3-0 to keep in touch with Benfica at the top and Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-0 thanks to a Mo Salah worldy in the second half.

In the first leg, it was two early goals from Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino that secured the 2-0 win, but Porto did create chances and probably should have scored an away goal, however they didn’t and now have to hope that Liverpool’s frailties away from home in the Champions League come back to haunt them.

Before beating Bayern Munich 3-1 in the away leg of the last round, Liverpool had lost their previous five away games including last season’s final and the three group games this season. That will no doubt be a concern to Jurgen Klopp and with Barcelona awaiting the winners, that needs to improve if they get to the semi-finals.

For the first of our Porto vs Liverpool predictions on tonight’s games, we’re going for the match to end a draw, sending Liverpool through to the semi-finals.

Porto vs Liverpool Betting Tips

As is always the case with Liverpool matches, there are plenty of anytime goalscorer options available for our betting tips. Mo Salah scored a brilliant solo effort against Chelsea at the weekend, after Raheem Sterling scored two for City and we looked at the Salah vs Sterling head to head stats this season, to compare the two wingers.

However, for our anytime scorer selection, we’re not going with Salah, Mane or Firmino, in fact we’re not going with a Liverpool player full stop. The selection is going to be Porto forward Moussa Marega. He had scored in his previous six Champions League matches before the tie at Anfield, and had a couple of chances last week.

Back on home soil, the Porto top scorer can help try and get his team back into this match with a goal, and get us a winning Porto vs Liverpool betting tip at odds of 11/4 with Betfred, where you get a £30 free bet on signing up.

Porto vs Liverpool Correct Score Prediction

The last of our betting tips for tonight’s Champions League quarter final is going to be a correct score bet and we’re going for 1-1. Porto have won all of their home matches in this competition this season, and their only match they’ve not won in their last seven at home was the 5-0 thrashing against tonight’s opponents last season.

Liverpool know exactly what they need to do tonight and an away goal would leave Porto needing four – the Portuguese side need to come out and attack and that could play into Liverpool’s hands. If the away goal is scored early, I’m predicting Liverpool will shut up shop and focus their attention back to the Premier League title race.
