Birmingham vs West Brom Betting Tips

It’s been a poor start for Birmingham who have made their worst start in the Championship in over 15 years. Garry Monk’s side won’t be helped by the looming threat of a points deduction which is hanging over them and its a worrying time for Blues fans. They did look handy going forward against Nottingham Forest but couldn’t follow up that encouraging performance against QPR. They are unbeaten at home with three consecutive draws here, the last two have ended goalless. West Brom have made a decent start to the campaign and Darren Moore’s side have started to click into top gear. Their only defeat in the last five matches came against high-flying Middlesbrough who are incredibly difficult to score against and it was a last minute lapse in concentration which cost them a point. Moore’s side have some terrific players in their side with Harvey Barnes looking particularly impressive so far and they also have a potent strike-force as well. The Baggies have won their last two visits to this stadium and although Birmingham are likely to be tough to break down, West Brom should have enough invention to unlock their defence. The first of our Birmingham vs West Brom predictions is West Brom win and can be backed at 6/5 with Ladbrokes.

Birmingham vs West Brom Both Teams to Score Odds

Although West Brom have been exciting to watch this season, fans will be hoping that their side can pick up their first clean sheet of the campaign here. Darren Moore’s side were incredibly well-organised at the end of last season as they fought to preserve their Premier League status but it’s been a different story this season. They are yet to keep a side off the score-sheet and five of their six games so far have seen BTTS land. Only Middlesbrough have kept them off the score-sheet so far. Birmingham have been less prolific but they are having plenty of efforts. They are averaging over 10 shots per game and showed their ruthlessness in front of goal at the City Ground three weeks ago. Both Teams to Score? Yes should land again here and is available at 5/6 with Betfred. It is the third of our Birmingham vs West Brom predictions for Friday night.

Birmingham vs West Brom Anytime Goalscorer Odds

Over the last couple of weeks, Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle have struck up a decent partnership. The pair have spoken to the media this week and that they have started to gain an understanding of each other’s strengths and weaknesses. It’s a strong front two for this level and they are both already off the mark. Gayle is playing catch-up after joining from Newcastle at the end of August and he is prolific at this level. He’s the favourite in the anytime goalscorer market and is available at 19/10 with Betway. He is the third of our Birmingham vs West Brom predictions for this evening’s Championship encounter.

Birmingham vs West Brom Betting Preview

Birmingham are yet to taste victory this season but all bad runs must come to an end at some point and many punters will be looking to keep the Blues on side here. They can be backed at 23/10 with William Hill. Garry Monk’s side have shown flashes of potential and they should be able to make a game of it. They have drawn their three previous home games and it is also 23/10 to end all-square here. West Brom will be popular in the betting and they are included in our football preview predictions. The Baggies are available at 6/5.

It’s a bit of a conundrum this game when it comes to goals. There are always plenty of opportunities in this fixture and the last few meetings between this pair haven’t disappointed. There have been 11 goals in the last three meetings and Over 2.5 Goals is available at 6/5 however Birmingham’s matches this season have tended to be low-scoring. Four of their last five matches have seen fewer than three goals and Under 2.5 Goals can be backed at 8/13.

Unsurprisingly, Dwight Gayle is the favourite in the first goalscorer market and he arrives in decent form. He’s 9/2 to net the opener with strike partner Jay Rodriguez available at 5/1. Che Adams is the shortest price Birmingham player in this market at 13/2.
