Millwall vs Stoke – BTTS

Gary Rowett takes charge against his former club on Saturday afternoon with the Lions hoping to put some distance between themselves and the stragglers at the bottom. The Londoners fell behind at home to Cardiff on Tuesday before battling their way back to a 2-2 draw. Tom Bradshaw, who hasn’t featured much since joining the club appears to have rediscovered his goalscoring touch and he could play an important role in this game. Millwall have only failed to score in two of their opening 13 games and it’s keeping opponents off the score-sheet that has been a consistent problem for them. They’ve found the net in every single game at the Den and with only a matter of days to work with his squad, that approach is unlikely to change under the new boss. Stoke lost at Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, finding it tough to breach a rigid home defence. The Potters have improved in recent weeks and netted four times against Fulham and Swansea prior to that defeat. Their only clean sheet on the road this season came against Brentford and BTTS has landed four times already. Stoke look better at the back since the reintroduction of Cameron Carter-Vickers although they are still suceptible and this game could easily end in a score draw.

Nottingham Forest vs Reading – BTTS

Forest haven’t enjoyed the last seven days suffering back-to-back defeats at Wigan and at home to Hull. This is a real test of Sabri Lamouchi’s side who hadn’t lost back-to-back games since mid-April. The former Rennes boss will need to ensure his side don’t slip out of the play-off spots with a third consecutive defeat. They’ve netted in every single home game this season although the majority of their victories have been by narrow margins. Reading have had an upturn in results under new boss Mark Bowen. Although the Welshman was far from the supporter’s first choice, he’s picked up four points from a possible six and has reintroduced a number of players including Sam Baldock. The striker may not play every game, but he will always score goals at this level and is clearly trusted by Bowen and his staff. The Royals have a number of talented players such as John Swift and Ovie Ejaria and will create chances in this game. They’ve scored in three of their last four away matches (in all competitions) and should put real pressure on the Forest defence, which has conceded three times in the last week.

Birmingham vs Luton – Birmingham Draw No Bet

Birmingham were victorious at St.Andrews yet again in midweek with a comfortable 1-0 success against Blackburn. Although it was a narrow win, they restricted the visitors to just a single effort on goal and their superb form in front of their own fans continues. Pep Clotet was delighted with the result and Brum have now picked up maximum points in four of their last five games here. They will make it tough for Luton and will feel confident that they can get something from this tie with the newly promoted outfit. The Hatters have been much better in recent weeks although they conceded three times to Fulham on Wednesday night. They’ve had a day less to prep for this contest and with five goals conceded in their two away trips, they could struggle here. The Blues have conceded just three goals in their last five home matches here and the visitors are going to have to come up with something spectacular in order to win this.
