Brentford vs Huddersfield – Ollie Watkins Anytime Goalscorer

Brentford were excellent on Monday night against QPR as they emerged 3-1 winners and took local bragging rights in West London. After a slow start to the campaign, Thomas Frank’s side are now starting to climb the table and they’re closing in on the play-offs. Many skeptics pointed to the goals left behind by Brighton-bound Neal Maupay, although Ollie Watkins has stepped into the breach and proved to be an excellent replacement. The 23-year old is surely Premier League-bound and he could be heading there with the Bees if he continues scoring at his current rate. Monday’s double moved him onto ten goals for the season and he can even afford to have missed a penalty along the way. He’s scored three in his last three and looked very sharp at Loftus Road earlier in the week. Huddersfield have tightened up under the Cowleys, but they are still liable to concede on the road and let Blackburn score twice during their recent visit to Ewood Park. Watkins could be the man to fire Brentford to a fourth successive victory.

Reading vs Millwall – Both Teams to Score? Yes

Mark Bowen has made a decent start at the Madejski with the Welshman taking four points from a possible six. They remained competitive against a decent QPR outfit and netted twice to take something from the game. At home, they left it late against Preston to nick a 1-0 victory back on October 19th. The former sporting director tightened up and went back to basics in his first game in charge although he is likely to be a little more adventurous this weekend. The re-introduction of Sam Baldock is certainly positive and he could have a say in this contest. Bowen is getting the supporters back on side and the home sides will be feeling confident that their side can take something here. They’ve managed to find the net in five of their first six home matches and they have enough quality to get on the score-sheet here. Milwall were excellent against Stoke in Gary Rowett’s first game in charge with Jed Wallace proving to be the star of the show. After struggling in front of goal under Neil Harris, the Lions have now netted exactly two goals in each of their last four Championship matches and will surely create chances in this tie.

Cardiff vs Birmingham – Cardiff Win

Cardiff were clearly second best on Sunday afternoon and their poor away form continues to hold them back. The Bluebirds are a completely different animal in the Welsh capital and they will fancy their chances of getting back to winning ways on Saturday. They’re unbeaten at home having won four of their six matches here and have kept two clean sheets in their last three matches here. No side has scored more than a single goal against them at the Cardiff City Stadium and they should be able to keep Birmingham at arms length. Brum have improved in recent weeks and Pep Clotet’s side are particularly impressive at St.Andrews. However, on the road, they’ve lost five of the last seven games and this young technical side might struggle to contain the hosts. They lost 3-2 here in March and they could be in for a difficult afternoon on Saturday.
