Ipswich vs Middlesbrough Predictions

Our football tips for the televised Championship match begin with an outright prediction. Ipswich are yet to win this season and Paul Hurst is struggling to get the best out of his players. The squad was completely overhauled this summer and many of the new faces are yet to impress. Gwion Edwards has been the standout pick and there have been flashes from Kayden Jackson whilst Jon Nolan got off the mark at the weekend but overall, it’s been a disappointing start for the majority of the new recruits. Whilst they don’t win often, they are quite difficult to beat and like Hurst’s Shrewsbury outfit, they make themselves tough to break down. They’ve drawn six of their opening ten matches including each of the last three and four of the last five and they won’t simply rollover when Middlesbrough arrive in Suffolk on Tuesday night. Boro will be disappointed to come away from Humberside with just a point and they won’t want to lose more ground at the top of the table. Tony Pulis’ side are also incredibly rigid and won’t be easy to penetrate but they lack that x-factor in the final third. They’ve failed to net in 33% of their matches so far this season and have only scored four times in their last six games and that’s a worry for anyone backing them here. With Ipswich’s recent record, the value appears to be backing the draw once again. Middlesbrough have only won one of their last six visits to this stadium with two of those games ending all-square and it’s 23/10 with William Hill to go the same way. Draw is the first of our Ipswich vs Middlesbrough predictions.

Ipswich vs Middlesbrough Under/Over Odds

Middlesbrough’s lack of firepower is a cause for concern. They are creating chances but they aren’t putting them away. Only two of their ten matches have ended with three or more goals this season and Overs backers haven’t cashed in since August 7th. There have been ten goals in total in Ipswich’s first five home matches and only one of those has featured more than three goals. Three of the last four matches between these sides have ended with fewer than three goals and this one could go the same way. Under 2.5 Goals is available at 11/17 with Sporting Bet and although it’s short, it looks a likely outcome. It is the second of our Ipswich vs Middlesbrough predictions.

Ipswich vs Middlesbrough Anytime Goalscorer Odds

The goals have dried up for Martin Braithwaite recently and whilst Britt Assombalonga was back amongst the goals at the weekend, he doesn’t hold much value here. He is Boro’s top goalscorer but they also regularly net through set-piece situations and that could be their best route to goal here. Daniel Ayala and Aden Flint are both a threat from corners and free-kicks and the latter has netted against Ipswich before. He netted a double against the Tractor Boys a couple of seasons ago and just edges out the Spaniard here. He is 13/2 with 888Sport to score anytime in this fixture and is the third of our Ipswich vs Middlesbrough predictions.

Ipswich vs Middlesbrough Betting Preview

Middlesbrough Win – 11/10

Draw – 23/10

Ipswich Win – 5/2

Middlesbrough start as the 11/10 favourites for this fixture and they are playing well this season. They struggled to add a second against Hull at the weekend and that lack of potency may hold them back once again. They’ve drawn three of their five games on the road so far this season and that’s why our football tipster has plumped for the draw here. It’s priced at 23/10. Ipswich are still looking for their first win of the season and are picking up points, albeit at a slow rate. They are 5/2 to get their first victory of the season here.

Ipswich’s penchant for the 1-1 draw could lead some punters to opt for Both Teams to Score? Yes and that offers value at Evens. Backing the correct score may also be a profitable way of playing and the 1-1 is available at 5/1. 0-0 could also be tempting at 7/1.

Britt Assombalonga is Middlesbrough’s top scorer and he was on target against at the weekend. He’s 5/1 to get the opener in this game. Strike partner Martin Braithwaite is just a touch bigger at 11/2. For Ipswich, Kayden Jackson is available at 15/2 whilst Gwion Edwards is 11/1 to grab his third goal of the campaign.
