Millwall to win.

Millwall vs Nottingham Forest Betting Odds

Both teams are in decent form and this game pitches together one of the division’s best home sides against one of the Championship’s most resilient travellers. Millwall begin as the favourites and can be backed at 11/8 with Bet365 and they’ve certainly looked much better under Gary Rowett. Nottingham Forest slipped up at home to Cardiff last time out, but they tend to be better away from the City Ground. The Tricky Trees can be supported at 19/10 whilst the draw is available at 21/10. The bookies aren’t expecting too many goals in this contest and it’s 6/5 for Over 2.5 Goals. Under 2.5 Goals is short at 4/6. The Lions have been scoring goals at home whereas Forest have generally kept them out on the road.

Millwall vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

Millwall have looked more comfortable going forward since Gary Rowett replaced Neil Harris in the dugout. He’s reiterated the positivity in the camp and despite a chance of manager, the Lions are still a significant threat from set-pieces. They aren’t just a one trick pony however and the fans have enjoyed multiple moments of magic from Jed Wallace in recent weeks and Connor Mahoney. At home, the Bermondsey outfit have been defeated just once (vs QPR) and have netted at least two goals in each of their last four outings here. Admittedly, it’s tough to be overly enthusiastic about their wins over lowly Stoke and downwardly mobile Charlton and they probably should have beaten Wigan (2-2), but they should give a good account of themselves here. Rumours emerged this week that Sabri Lamouchi has been linked with a move to Watford, however the Frenchman appears to be staying put. He’s done excellently at the City Grounds and the players clearly enjoy working under him. They would have been disappointed with the outcome against Cardiff last weekend, but they have suffered just a single defeat away from home this season (vs Wigan) and have kept back-to-back clean sheets on their travels. Only Leeds and WBA have a better record on the road and Forest have already played three of their follow top five sides away from home this season. They just have a knack of absorbing pressure and the form of Lewis Grabban has helped them pick up some crucial points along the way.

The prices are favouring Millwall here, but they’ve played a relatively weak collection of sides at home in recent weeks and this is one of their toughest assignments to date. They’ve played just two of the top six at this ground so far (one vs Preston on the opening day) and they could struggle to break down a rigid Forest back-line. However, very sides beat them at the Den, so we’re playing it safe and opting for Nottingham Forest DNB at 21/20 with Bet Victor.  Although it’s fairly predictable, it’s hard to overlook the fact that Lewis Grabban has netted six of his eight goals on the road. The striker is ideally suited to his side’s preferred playing style and he could strike again here. He’s 2/1 to score anytime in this fixture.
