Norwich vs QPR Predictions and Betting Tips: Championship Preview

Norwich betting tips

Norwich vs QPR predictions and betting tips for Saturday’s Championship meeting on April 6th with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

Norwich are on their longest winning run of the season, and the Canaries are flying high. Daniel Farke’s side came out on top last weekend against promotion chasing Middlesbrough, and are a step closer to Premier League football. They face a winnable looking fixture against a side who have endured a topsy-turvy season. QPR sacked Steve McClaren earlier this week, and will be hoping that John Eustace, who is temporary charge of the club can give the players a much-needed lift.  See our Norwich vs QPR predictions below.

Norwich vs QPR Preview

Norwich start the day five points ahead of Leeds at the top of the Championship table, and they’ve now got two of their trickier fixtures out of the way. It was never going to be straightforward at the Riverside Stadium, but Onel Hernandez’s winner was enough to secure all three points on Teesside. Prior to that, they scraped past relegation-threatened Rotherham, who are a tough nut to crack at home. With trips to Stoke and Wigan, and home games against Sheffield Wednesday and Reading to come, their promotion looks to be on track, but they musn’t take their eye off the ball here. Sides don’t often win eight games in a row in the Championship, and there’s always a danger coming up against a side who have just dismissed their manager. Norwich haven’t been defeated at home since losing in bizarre fashion to Derby, and only four sides have beaten them at Carrow Road this season. They’ve been scoring plenty of goals recently, and with the hosts priced up at a short odds-on price, goals may be the best way to play this one. Although Swansea frustrated them for long periods, they played some lovely free-flowing stuff against both Hull and Bristol City, and they found the net either side of the break in each of those games. QPR may be under the temporary care of John Eustace, but they won’t be changing personnel ahead of this game, and their defence doesn’t neccessarily scream solidity. Norwich to Score in Both Halves would have landed in five of the last seven home matches, and in six of their last seven Championship games home and away. It’s definitely worth a look at 11/10. It is the first of our Championship betting tips.

Norwich vs QPR Goals Prediction

Another goals-based bet for Saturday lunchtime is Over 1.5 Second Half Goals. QPR have scored in each of their last three Championship outings, and they’ve found the net after the break in each case. Four of their last five matches have seen at least two goals scored in the second 45, and this pattern could continue. Although Norwich did only net once against Middlesbrough, it did come after the break, and an impressive 60% of goals in their matches have arrived following the half-time teamtalk. To add to that, the Canaries have netted 34% of their goals after the 71st minute, and they always tend to put on a late, late show. This bet would have landed in eight of the last eleven Norwich games, so it’s well worth investing at around 4/5. Over 1.5 Second Half Goals is the second of our Norwich vs QPR predictions for Saturday lunchtime.

Norwich vs QPR Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tips

It’s going to be difficult to select Norwich’s player of the season this year with so many contenders having enjoyed breakthrough campaigns in East Anglia. Teemu Pukki has been an inspired signing, but the goals have dried up lately for the Finn, and I don’t want to back him on this occasions. Kenny McLean has found his shooting boots lately, and he could be a possibility in the anytime goalscorer market here. Marco Stiepermann and Onel Hernandez are always a threat, but I’m siding with Emi Buendia to continue his good goalscoring run at Carrow Road. The diminutive Argentinian playmaker is such a creative force, and he’s netted seven times so far this season. Only four of those goals have come in front of the home crowd, but he’s managed to score in his last two here, and at 5/2, he looks a decent prospect to repeat the trick on Saturday. Emi Buendia to Score Anytime is the third of our Norwich vs QPR betting tips.

Norwich vs QPR Match Betting Preview

Norwich start the day as 4/9 favourites to collect three points here, and that could get shorter as we get closer to kick-off. QPR could be a danger under their temporary coach, and they can be backed at 6/1, whilst it’s 10/3 to end all-square and the points to be shared.

The bookies are expecting a few goals in this game, and it’s unsurprising to see Over 2.5 Goals priced at 4/7. Both teams have been involved in plenty of high-scoring games this season. Over 3.5 Goals is available at 6/4, whilst it’s 11/8 for any punters who believe we will be short on entertainment on Saturday.

Teemu Pukki leads the way in the first goalscorer market, with the Finn available at 3/1 to notch the opener. He’s been missing a few chances recently, but crucially, he’s getting himself into good positions still. Onel Hernandez, who netted the winner seven days ago is 13/2, whilst it’s 11/2 for Marco Stiepermann to get things off to a positive start. For QPR Nahki Well is a constant menace, and always a threat, and he can be backed at 9s.
