QPR vs Sheffield United Predictions, Betting Tips and Preview

Sky Bet Championship predictions

QPR vs Sheffield United predictions and betting tips for Saturday afternoon’s Championship fixture which takes place in West London at Loftus Road. Can Steve McClaren pick up his first victory in the QPR dugout?

Both of these sides are looking to bounce back following opening day defeats with the Blades hoping to recover from a 3-0 midweek defeat. See our betting tips and match predictions below.

QPR vs Sheffield United Predictions

Neither of these two sides have begun the season in ideal fashion and both will be desperate to get some points on the board. QPR looked devoid of ideas against Preston on the opening day of the season and they left with a narrow defeat, although it could have been much worse. Steve McClaren is desperate to bolster his squad but doesn’t have much of a budget to work with. Chris Wilder was left in disbelief following his side’s 3-0 defeat against Middlesbrough in midweek. The damage was done in the first half and although the Blades improved in the second half, they couldn’t find a way past the Teessiders. Sheffield United have played well in patches but they haven’t quite rediscovered their swagger from last season but I think they will come away with a point from this trip to the capital. Although under different manager, QPR were difficult to beat at Loftus Road last season and only suffered six defeats throughout the campaign. They can hold their own here. The first of our QPR vs Sheffield United predictions is Draw which is available at 12/5 with Boylesports and you can get a £25 free bet to use on any of our Championship betting tips this weekend.

Neither side will want to give much away in this game and QPR may not have the attacking tools to find a way past their opponents. It’s back to basics in defence for Chris Wilder and his players will be under instructions not to leave themselves exposed at the back. It could be tough and go and there won’t be much between this pair. It would be unthinkable to suffer three consecutive defeats at the start of the season for Sheffield United and there will be a few nerves amongst the players. Under 2.5 Goals is odds-on with Ladbrokes but it looks a decent option and is the second of our QPR vs Sheffield United predictions.

Ben Woodburn was a breath of fresh air on Tuesday and lit up a second half which was always heading towards an inevitable conclusion. The Liverpool loanee looks a decent option for an anytime goalscorer bet in this game and he is available at 10/3 with Bet365. He could be too lively for the QPR defence and looks the likeliest to unlock the often-static QPR defence. Ben Woodburn to score anytime is the third of our QPR vs Sheffield United betting tips and you can use £100 of free bet credits on any of our betting tips and weekend football predictions.

QPR vs Sheffield United Recommended Bets and Odds

Sheffield United will start this game as the favourites and will be fancied by many punters. They are available at 6/4 with William Hill and they have greater attacking weapons. QPR can be backed 7/4 and will be hoping to draw upon last season’s excellent home form. Our bet prediction of the draw is available at 12/5. Bet365 have priced up Leon Clarke as the favourite in the first goalscorer market and he is available at 11/2. Billy Sharp, who may have to settle for a place on the bench is next in the betting at 6/1.
