QPR vs West Brom Predictions and Betting Tips: Championship Preview
Tuesday night throws up another intriguing Championship fixture with West Brom making the trip to Loftus Road. The Baggies will be hoping to cement their promotion credentials with three points in West London. Darren Moores side have been more effective on the road recently and they should be able to return to the Midlands, another step closer to the automatics. QPR are hoping to end a run of consecutive defeat, and they’ll be desparate to get back to winning ways. This’ll be tough for Steve McClaren’s men. See our QPR vs West Brom predictions below.[inline_advert ad=”1″] [global_advert id=”37954″]
QPR vs West Brom Predictions
Darren Moore was delighted with his side’s performances against Aston Villa at the weekend, with the Baggies running out 2-0 winners against their Midlands rivals. After a questionnable defensive record during the first half of the season, WBA are finally starting to keep clean sheets and look assured at the back. They’ve won 16 times this season, with nine of those victories coming away from the Hawthornes, and they’ll be confident of reaching double figures here. Only Norwich have a better record on the road this season and Moore’s men will be well-backed for this fixture. QPR have struggled lately, although they’ve faced some tough opposition. They’ve recently been to Ashton Gate and Bramall Lane and were only defeated by a single goal in each of those fixtures. They were particularly unlucky against Bristol City, conceding an extremely soft late penalty, which was duly converted by Famara Diedhiou. McClaren’s men are looking for their first home win since Boxing Day, but it’s unlikely to come here. West Brom should have too much for them. The Baggies have won seven of their last eight on the road, and they looked primed to collect three points once more. West Brom Win is the first of our Championship betting tips for Tuesday night.
QPR vs West Brom Goals Betting Tips
West Brom have been keeping a number of clean sheets in recent weeks on the road, keeping Villa, Rotherham and Stoke off the score-sheet. QPR have plenty of talent going forward however, and they have scored in each of their last four games. They have been struggling at the back, but their forward-line is always a threat. The Hoops may find the net here, but just in case they don’t, it could be better to back Over 2.5 Goals. 56% of WBA’s games have ended with three or more goals this campaign, and it’s also landed in 60% of QPR’s home matches. It ended 7-1 when these two sides met on August 18th, but there is unlikely to be eight goals this time around. Over 2.5 Goals is the second of our QPR vs West Brom betting tips for Tuesday.
QPR vs West Brom Anytime Goalscorer Predictions
Jay Rodriguez has been in flying form this season and he scored another cracker at the weekend. He has 17 for the season, and he is likely to reach the 20-goal mark before the campaign concludes. He rarely gets more a single goal per game, but he has netted in four of his last six Championship outings and should be able to cause the QPR defence plenty of problems. He scored twice against this opposition earlier in the season, and although they have tightened up defensively, he should be able to add another to his impressive tally. Three of his last five goals have come on the road, and I think he’s worth backing again here. Jay Rodriguez to Score Anytime is the third of our QPR vs West Brom Predictions.
QPR vs West Brom Match Betting Preview
West Brom are in the promotion hunt and they are starting as 6/5 shots for this match. The Baggies have been in excellent form on the road, and they will be fancied to continue that run on Tuesday. QPR can be backed at 9/4 to take all three points and end their winless streak. The draw is available at 11/4.
With West Brom’s strikeforce, many punters will be expecting plenty of goals in this one. Over 2.5 Goals is available at 4/5 and Over 3.5 Goals is priced at 2/1. WBA have tightened up considerably, and Under 2.5 Goals could be tempting for many bettors at Evens.
Jay Rodriguez is the 11/2 favourite to score the first goal of the game and he is followed by strike partner Hal Robson Kanu at 6/1. Both players were on the score-sheet at the weekend. Matt Smith has been a real nuisance for the opposition’s defence in recent weeks, and he is 13/2 to net the first of the game whilst Nahki Wells is 6/1 to break the deadlock.
