Racing Post Football Tips – Championship Winner

Fulham @ 7/1 with William Hill.

Despite Leeds United being ante-post favourites to win the Championship, the Racing Post have tipped Fulham to bounce straight back to the Premier League by taking the Championship title.

Scott Parker is an inexperienced manager but Child’s hopes he can follow in Frank Lampard’s footsteps and have a good first full season in management. Fulham were 10 points adrift when Parker took over and owner Shahid Khan decided to stick with him for this season.

They’ve kept a lot of their squad from last season including star striker Aleksander Mitrovic and Anthony Knockaert looks a shrewd loan signing from Brighton.

Championship Promotion Prediction

Nottingham Forest @ 13/2 with Betfair.

With the likes of West Brom and Derby County looking weaker on paper this season, there could be a different look to the top six and the Racing Post are predicting Nottingham Forest to win promotion. They have a talented squad and if new manager Sabri Lamouchi can get a good tune out of them, there might be more to come from this group of players.

One of the other potential Championship promotion bets are Stoke City who need to improve greatly on their performances from last season.

Racing Post Tips – Championship Relegation

Birmingham (4/1) and Reading (3/1 with Bet Victor)

Two of the sides that have been in the Championship for number of seasons are tipped for the drop in the Racing Post Big Kick-Off. Birmingham got a points penalty last season but still managed to survive and this season could be equally as tough. The loss of Garry Monk is the main reason for this Dan Child’s selection after the relationship with the Birmingham owners became strained.

Che Evans has also moved on, leaving a huge hole in the Blues’ goal tally.

Reading are the second side tipped for Championship relegation after narrowly avoiding the drop last season. They don’t have a great squad and unless there is some late movement in the loans market, Dan Child’s expects them to struggle once again.

Racing Post Championship Best Bets

Blackburn to finish in the top half @ 11/8 with William Hill.

Rovers have so far managed to hold onto Bradley Dack and manager Tony Mowbray is expected to have another good season at Ewood Park. Stewart Downing and Bradley Johnson add experience to the squad and a top half finish looks a good bet here.

Fulham to be top London club @ 10/11 with bet365.

Having already tipped them to win the Championship this season, Fulham to be top London club look a great bet according to the Racing Post football betting tips for this Championship season.

The other London clubs are QPR, Brentford, Millwall and Charlton.

Bristol City to finish in the top 6 @ 11/4 with William Hill.

It is never easy to predict the top 6 in the Championship and this season looks as competitive as ever, however, Bristol City might be worth a punt according to the Racing Post pundit. They finished eighth last season and it could be that Derby and West Brom are weaker than the last campaign.
