Reading vs Blackburn Betting Tips

Reading are favourites to win this tie, yet on current evidence it’s difficult to trust the Royals. Despite making a semi-decent start to the campaign, Jose Gomes’ side are struggling for form, and have gone nearly 200 minutes without scoring a Championship goal. Against Charlton, they were guilty of overplaying it at times. John Swift has created more chances than any other player in the division, although the talented midfielder appears to be under instructions not to shoot from distance. Having said that, he is deadly from a set-piece situation, and will be on free-kick duty once again.

The Royals won here against Blackburn in one of Gomes’ first games in charge back in February, and they’ll be hoping for another favourable result here.

Tony Mowbray has a terrible record against Reading, having never won any of his seven encounters with the Berkshire outfit. The Teessider will be hoping to end that run on Saturday, and his side do look in decent shape. Rovers kept yet another clean sheet against Millwall at the weekend, and they current possess one of the best defensive records in the division. Only seven sides have conceded fewer goals than Mowbray’s men this year, with Darragh Lenihan looking very impressive in the heart of the defence.

Rovers lost at Fulham, and gave it a real good go at the Hawthorns. They did beat Hull, although they were arguably lucky to tale all three points in that game.

Reading are unpredictable, whilst Rovers are difficult to break down. This game could go either way so it may be best to stick with the draw which is available at 12/5 with Bet Victor.

There are typically plenty of goals when these two sides face one another, but this game could potentially go the other way. Blackburn have seen four of their last five matches contain fewer than three goals whilst Reading are struggling for firepower. Each of the Royals last four Championship encounters would have landed Under 2.5 Goals. It is available at Evens with Bet365, and it could be a slow burner at the Madejski.
