Reasons for our Sheffield United vs Swansea Predictions

Our weekend football predictions continue with a home win at Bramall Lane. Sheffield United visibly tired towards the end of last season but they began the campaign in excellent form, particularly at home and very little has changed over the summer. The Blades were rocked by Paul Coutt’s injury but they have plenty of talent in their squad and they should be able to make this iconic ground a fortress once again. The South Yorkshire side won seven of their first eight home matches last season, winning 12 of 23 overall in front of their own fans and we’re backing them to make a quick start for the second successive season. Very little is known about how Swansea will line up under the new regime with Graham Potter making his managerial debut in the Championship. They’ve had to cut their cloth accordingly although they’ve purchased Barry McKay this week and the emergence of Ollie McBurnie is a positive one. Potter oversaw a revolution at Ostersunds but it didn’t happen immediately for the Solihull-born gaffer and he might not get off to a winning start in the second tier. Sheffield United will be fired up and ready to go and should collect three points here. Sheffield United are available at 11/8 with 888Sport and it is the first of our Sheffield United vs Swansea predictions. It’s always difficult to work out how these games may pan out. Sheffield United started efficiently last season and kept four clean sheets in their opening eight matches at home last year. They only conceded four times in times during that period and should be hard to breach once again. Swansea may take time to find their feet under Graham Potter but they are likely to be tough to break down as well. Under 2.5 Goals looks a sensible way to play in this Championship game and it’s a short-price. Boylesports are offering 7/10 and it’s the best price available on our football betting tip and it’s the third of our Sheffield United vs Swansea predictions for Saturday.

The Blades were mightily effective on their own patch last season and they’ve strengthened their defence with the addition of John Egan from Brentford. They should be tough to beat in South Yorkshire this season. Three of their first six home games last season finished with a 1-0 scoreline and we’re backing it to end in the same way. A narrow victory for Chris Wilder’s side looks a decent option here and it’s the third and final selection in our Sheffield United vs Swansea predictions. Sheffield United Team News vs Swansea

The Blades have made two new signings this summer but both are likely to start this game. Dean Henderson is likely to be Wilder’s number one this campaign whilst John Egan should slot into central defence. Paul Coutts is a long-term absentee.

Key Player – There are number of players who are likely to heavily influence this clash but John Fleck should control things in the middle of the park. The cultured midfielder had an excellent campaign last season and should be able to bully some of the younger Swansea players.

Swansea Team News vs Sheffield United

Both of the Ayew’s are likely to depart this summer and neither are expected to start this match. New signing Barry McKay could be pitched straight in alongside Joel Asoro. Mike Van Der Hoorn is likely to be out with an injury and the defender won’t feature here.

Key Player – It’s a big season for Matt Grimes who looks like he could be capable at this level. The former Exeter winger has had limited opportunities since moving to South Wales and he could be the key to Swansea’s attacking play.
