This year’s 2018 Cheltenham Festival each-way accumulator tip begins with a Stayers Hurdle tip on Wednesday and runs through to the Gold Cup on Friday. See the Cheltenham tips below.
Winning at the Cheltenham Festival can be a difficult task for most horses, even for the shortest-priced favourites. Yet for those animals just lacking that necessary turn of foot at the end of races, the prize money on offer for just being placed can reap its rewards. For punters just looking for place money as opposed to win bets, the following horses could be worth noting in an each-way Cheltenham Festival accumulator tip.
Cloudy Dream – Ryanair Chase, Thursday 2.50.
Now trained by Ruth Jefferson, Cloudy Dream has earned a reputation for being content to finish second in races. He displayed much promise when second to Altior in the 2017 Arkle Trophy but in six subsequent races, the horse has won once and been runner-up in each of the other five contests over various distances. Cloudy Dream always travels well and appears more suited to a 2m4f trip. He could be placed in the Ryanair especially if conditions are not too testing.

UnowhatImeanharry – Stayers Hurdle, Thursday 3.30
When UnowhatImeanharry won the 2016 Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle, it was envisaged as a stepping stone for him to win the Stayers Hurdle that following season. Unfortunately, the Harry Fry horse did not read the script and could only finish third in that race. He won his first contest this season but two subsequent placed efforts in decent company suggest that he may just lack that vital acceleration at the end of a race. A repeat of last season’s third place is a possibility.

Definitely Red – Cheltenham Gold Cup, Friday 3.30
Northern trainer Brian Ellison does not have the best of records at Cheltenham racecourse but he rates Definitely Red sufficiently highly to allow his participation in the Gold Cup. There should be no stamina issues regarding this consistent horse, having won at Doncaster last March over 3m2f. He then finished third in his seasonal opener at Wetherby before winning at Aintree and more lately at Cheltenham in the Cotswold Chase. Expect a bold display in this race, but he may lack the required finishing pace to win the Gold Cup.

Politologue – Queen Mother Champion Chase, Wednesday 3.30
Paul Nicholls trained Politologue won the Tingle Creek and Desert Orchid Chase this season before facing Altior at Newbury last month. The latter horse duly obliged in the race to confirm his position as odds-on favourite for the Champion Chase. The 7-year-old gelding has never won in three previous visits to Cheltenham racecourse, but with doubts regarding the form of last year’s winner Special Tiara and fitness concerns regarding Douvan, it would be no surprise if Politologue was placed.
Cloudy Dream – Thursday 2.50
UnowhatImeanharry – Thursday 3.30
Definitly Red – Friday 3.30
Politologue – Wednesday 3.30
