Bosnia-Herzegovina v Rep of Ireland Betting Tips and Predictions
Bosnia-Herzegovina v Republic of Ireland betting tips and predictions for their Euro 2016 qualifying play-off first leg this week from our expert football tipster.
It's crunch time for the Republic of Ireland as they head to Bosnia for the first leg of their Euro 2016 qualifying play-off. The match is live on Sky Sports at 7:45pm Friday evening and here are our match predictions and betting tips.
Bosnia-Herzegovina v Republic of Ireland Predictions
If the Irish are going to make it to Euro 2016, they will have to do it the hard way following their disappointing defeat away to Poland last month. Despite only losing the match 2-1, the manner of defeat will have probably disappointed Martin O'Neil the most as his side struggled to create many clear cut chances throughout the 90 minutes.
To compound matters, both John O'Shea and Jon Walters will both miss the first leg in Bosnia due to suspension, and striker Shane Long will also be absent following a foot injury. The latter's absence could prove to be significant blow, as the Southampton man's pace on the break could have provided an excellent outlet for attack.

The hosts Bosnia-Herzegovina paid the price for a sloppy start in qualifying and finished four points behind the impressive Welsh in second place. Were it not for three straight wins in their final three games, the Bosnians may have even struggled to land a play-off berth.
Heading into the match and the bookies are siding heavily towards a home win with Bosnia trading at a best price of 19/20. Ireland can be backed at odds as long as 18/5, with the draw available at 12/5.
With the match being a two-legged affair, I certainly can't see the Irish throwing too much caution to the wind in regards to attacking. The key for Martin O'Neil will be still be in the tie come the second leg. It's a tough one to call as Bosnia have the better individual players, with Ireland the better team unit. I fancy this game to end as a low-scoring draw.
My first Bosnia-Herzegovina v Ireland prediction is for the match to end a draw, take the best odds of 12/5 at Bet365 and bet with a £200 bonus.

Six of Ireland's last eight matches have finished with under 2.5 goals, and due to the nature of the match, I would be very surprised if this trend changed in this Euro 2016 qualifying play-off first leg which leads me onto my second bet tip.
My second Bosnia v Ireland betting tip is for under 2.5 goals to be scored in the match, the best odds for this are 6/11 at 888Sport. Those odds are short but if you open an 888Sport account below you’ll get treble the odds with a cash pay-out.

After two fairly unremarkable bets, time for something to set the pulse racing a little more in the goalscoring market. Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic is fast making a name for himself as a real deadeye from long range following several superb strikes over the last 18 months. The Roma playmaker, also has one of the best free-kick conversion rates in world football as well.
Watch Pjanic score a brilliant free kick for Roma below:
Therefore, for my third Bosnia-Herzegovina v Ireland prediction, have a punt on Pjanic to score from outside the area at terrific odds of 12/1 with Sky Bet.
