Ukraine vs Poland Betting Tips and Predictions – Euro 2016

Ukraine v Poland predictions and betting tips for their Euro 2016 Group C game taking place on Tuesday 21st June, kick off time 5:00pm.

The Euro 2012 co-hosts meet each other on Tuesday as already eliminated Ukraine take on Poland at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille and I have picked out the three best betting tips.

Ukraine v Poland Predictions

Ukraine became the first side to be eliminated from this year’s European Championships after losing their first two games to Germany and Northern Ireland. Their defeat to Michael O’Neill’s men and Germany’s goalless draw with Poland means even if they win here it wouldn’t be enough for third place due to their head-to-head record with the Green and White army. It’s been a disappointing campaign for Mykhalo Fomenko, who’s side came into this tournament in decent form, their only saving grace now would be in defeating Poland and restoring some pride in their national side.

Fomeko could decide to make changes to his side after two poor performances and could give starts to youngsters Viktor Kovalenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko as they look to leave France on a high.

Poland sit second in the Group C table on four points. First, second and third place are all still possible for the Poles, a win for them and a draw or defeat for Germany would ensure Poland top the group, if they draw or lose and Northern Ireland lose second place would be theirs. Even if they do finish third, four points could be enough to guarantee one of the four best third place teams and see them through to the last 16, but they’ll be hoping to win here and set up a decent draw in the next round.

Lukasz Fabianski is likely to continue in goal with Wojciech Szczesny still struggling with a thigh injury. Arkadiusz Milik should partner Robert Lewandowski again despite missing some excellent chances against the Germans.

This should be a comfortable victory for Adam Newalka and his men. A win would definitely see them through into the next round and against a struggling Ukraine side there shouldn’t be a problem for Poland to get the points they need to guarantee a spot in the last 16. They’ve kept two clean sheets in their two games so far and I think that clean sheet record will be extended here too. My first Ukraine vs Poland prediction is for Poland to win to nil, you’ll find the best odds at Paddy Power who are offering 23/10.

Robert Lewandowski was many people’s tip to get top goalscorer in this year’s competition. He was on fire for Bayern Munich last season, scoring 30 times, but hasn’t found that kind of form so far in this tournament, failing to score in his side’s European campaign so far. However, against this Ukraine side he’ll get chances to put that right and he’s the subject of my second tip. My second Ukraine v Poland prediction is for Lewandowski to score first; the best odds are with Stan James who are offering 19/5.

Almost half the matches so far in Euro 2016 have been draws at half-time with sides looking to stay compact and defensive before becoming more adventurous in the second 45. I don’t think this one will follow suit, I think Poland will be able to take advantage of a confidence lacking Ukraine side in both halves. My final Ukraine vs Poland betting tip tip is for Poland to win both halves, go for it with Stan James at the best odds of 21/4
