Fantasy Football Gameweek 34+ Tips – Who should your Captain be?

Fantasy Football tips

It was a successful Gameweek 33+ captaincy tip with our pick, Bruno Fernandes securing a 15-point haul. Here’s our look at three of the best picks for Gameweek 34+.

There is little rest bite for Premier League Fantasy Football players as Gameweek 34 starts just a day after 33 concluded with Tottenham vs Everton. There are some nice fixtures for the in-form sides in this Gameweek including Tottenham against Bournemouth and managers will be hopeful that Kevin De Bruyne starts after being left on the bench for the 1-0 defeat to Southampton.

Option 1 – Bruno Fernandes (8.9m) vs Aston Villa

We kick things off with last Gameweek’s hero (for our picks at least). Bruno Fernandes continued his excellent start to life in the Premier League with a goal and two assists against Bournemouth. The Portuguese international’s output has been nothing short of fantastic since joining in January, with six goals and five assists propelling Manchester United into Champions League contention.

Fernandes has blanked in just two out of nine games since arriving. Manchester United are up against relegation-threatened Aston Villa next. Villa have struggled for points since the restart and have kept just one clean sheet in five (a rather fortunate one against Sheffield United).

The consistency and guaranteed starts offered by Fernandes make him an intriguing prospect once again.

Option 2 – Kevin De Bruyne (10.8m) vs Newcastle

Someone who cannot offer the same security of game time is Kevin De Bruyne. The FPL top point scorer served up just one point against Southampton after being rested. The single point is disappointing for owners but does suggest the Belgian will be in line to start against Newcastle.

De Bruyne has scored in each of his three starts since the restart, as well as picking up two assists. Across the season, KDB has scored 11 and assisted 20. Nine double-digit point hauls highlights exactly why De Bruyne should be in line for consideration despite Guardiola’s selection lottery.

Newcastle have improved defensively but still conceded twice to a relegation-threatened West Ham. Manchester City recently beat Newcastle 2-0 at the end of June in the FA Cup, a game in which KDB started and scored.

Option 3 – Heung-Min Son (9.8m) vs Bournemouth

The biggest gamble in out shortlist is without a doubt Tottenham’s Heung-Min Son. At the time of writing, Son has not scored since the restart but has picked up assists in two of his three games. Tottenham are far from in form and recently lost 3-1 to Sheffield United.

Nevertheless, Son is an appealing captaincy option given Tottenham’s Gameweek 34+ opponents. Bournemouth have been woeful since the restart and do not look capable of staying up if they continue in this vein. They shipped five goals against Manchester United and three the last time they faced Spurs.

Son has scored nine and assisted 11 despite missing eight games through suspensions and injuries. Five double-figure hauls helps him to ninth in the midfielder ranks.

Recommended Captain for Gameweek 34+

It’s a tough call but we’re opting for Kevin De Bruyne with his starting place likely safe and an opponent with little to play for.

Bruno Fernandes has played a lot of minutes in recent weeks and Tottenham are not in great form.
