Ederson (10.3) – Manchester City

It’s a premium XI this week with the most expensive goalkeeper who isn’t named Kepa getting the nod. Ederson is likely to benefit from an additional point for a win right off the bat as Leicester will be without key player, Wilfried Ndidi for their trip to Manchester. A clean sheet could be on the cards, too.

Matt Doherty – (10.6) – Tottenham

Spurs are yet to keep a clean sheet this season but come against a Newcastle side who struggled against Brighton. Matt Doherty poses plenty of attacking threat and had an assist denied by VAR last week.

Reece James (10.5) – Chelsea

A goal and an assist in his opening game followed by a start against Liverpool is enough to book a place in this sid for Reece James. The Chelsea left-back has bags of attacking potential and comes up against a winless West Brom.

Nelson Semedo (8.0) – Wolves

Wolves’ latest Portuguese recruit comes straight into the side for their game against West Ham. The Hammers have conceded four in two and scored just once against Newcastle and Arsenal heading into this one. Semedo will have plenty of freedom to get forward from right-wingback.

Kevin De Bruyne (14.5) – Manchester City

A goal from the penalty spot and a late assist capped a strong opening haul for De Bruyne. City swept aside a strong Wolves side in the first-half and were unfortunate not to be leading by more. Leicester allowed a weak-looking Burnley side to score twice and will surely concede here.

Mo Salah (13.8) – Liverpool

Arsenal isn’t the best fixture on paper but Mo Salah has had success against the Gunners in the past. Liverpool put three past Arsenal last season, and having conceded to West Ham, it is clear Mikel Arteta still has some work to do. Salah’s home record is another big plus point for the Egyptian.

Kai Havertz (13.1) VC x1.5

Having netted a hat-trick during the week, Havertz should benefit from a boost in confidence. Hauled off at half-time against Liverpool because of Christensen’s red card, the German international should play the majority of the game against a West Brom side who have already shipped eight goals. The Baggies’ defensive fragility is enough to secure Havertz vice-captaincy.

Daniel Podence (8.9) – Wolves

Another Portuguese Wolves player makes the XI this week. Daniel Podence turned in a lively performance against Man City last week and picked up a second assist of the season. Wolves are firm favourites to beat West Ham and Podence is well-priced this week.

Timo Werner (13.9) C x2

This week’s captain is Chelsea’s Timo Werner. The German is yet to score for his new club but has won two penalties in two games. West Brom have allowed Vardy to score twice (from the spot) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score a hat-trick. If Chelsea’s frontman can replicate those hauls he’ll be worthy of the armband.

Raul Jimenez (9.9) – Wolves

Raul Jimenez completes a hat-trick of Wolves players for their West Ham match-up. The Mexican forward has scored in each of their opening two fixtures and will be facing a weaker defence than either Sheffield United or Manchester City’s. If nothing else, a win and 90 minutes complete is likely.

Che Adams – (9.3) – Southampton

Danny Ings is unlucky to miss out but it’s strike partner Che Adams who gets the last spot. No player has had more big chances than Adams in the opening two weeks. Adams comes in at 1.1m cheaper than Ings and has every chance of matching him against a weakened Burnley. Picking Adams over Ings will give you a 0.44 point advantage.
