Aston Villa vs Millwall Betting Tips and Predictions

Aston Villa betting tips

Aston Villa vs Millwall betting tips, predictions and match preview for this televised Championship fixture on Easter Monday. Villa’s recent run of form is mightily impressive, and they will look to their momentum into the play-offs. Dean Smith’s side had to be patient on Friday, but two second half goals cemented a straightforward 2-0 victory over Bolton. Can they make it a tenth win in a row?

Millwall will have been disappointed not to have picked up three points on Friday lunchtime against ten-men Brentford, and their lack of cutting edge leaves them still nervously glancing over their shoulders. The Lions are unbeaten in four, and will provide Villa with a stern test. They picked up a point at Bramall Lane, and shouldn’t be underestimated here in the Midlands, but they may just be edged out here.

Aston Villa vs Millwall Preview and Betting Odds

Millwall have caused problems for many top sides this season. They almost snatched something against Leeds, but slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Elland Road, and they will certainly not lie down here. They left the Midlands with three points at the beginning of March, after beating Birmingham 2-0, and Swansea are the only side to have kept them off the score-sheet in 2019 on their travels.

At home, Villa have been in excellent form, but they’ve not been able to make things comfortable for themselves. They were 2-0 in front against both Blackburn and Bristol City, but conceded a second half goal, which led to a nervy finale. They’ve picked up just two clean sheets here since November 2nd, and I expect Millwall to find a way through here. Villa have improved defensively, but Millwall are scrapping away, and they should register.

It ended 2-1 at the Den earlier in the campaign, and this a scoreline very much favoured by the Villains recently.

It is odds-on that both teams find the net here, but it’s worth backing in this cracking Championship tie.

Our betting tip is Both Teams to Score? Yes and it is priced at 3/4 with Betway. That is the best price available.

Match Betting Odds:

Aston Villa Win – 8/13

Draw – 11/4

Millwall Win – 9/2

Aston Villa vs Millwall Betting Tips

Jack Grealish claimed a goal and an assist on Good Friday, and he continues to start at a decent price. The 23-year old has been a revelation since returning to the side, and he has helped Villa push towards the play-offs.

His first goal came on November 2nd, and he has netted six times in total. He’s also netted in each of the last two games that he’s played. He isn’t afraid to shoot from distance, and if Millwall fail to close him down, they could be in trouble.

Tammy Abraham leads the goalscoring market, and is hugely tempted given his current form, but at a price of 11/4, Grealish is hard to ignore.

The third of our Championship betting tips for Easter Monday is Jack Grealish to Score Anytime, and he is best-priced at 11/4 with Betfair.

Aston Villa vs Millwall Prediction – Aston Villa Win and Under 4.5 Goals @ Evens with Ladbrokes

Millwall’s defence has improved significantly since a minor reshuffle saw Alex Pearce slot in alongside Jake Cooper, and the partnership is flourishing. They will look to nulify the Villa threat in this game, and although they may not be able to hold out for 90 minutes, they should be able to keep things tight for the majority of the game.

Dean Smith’s men didn’t find the net until the second half against a usually porous Bolton, but always looked in control throughout the tie. Although they’ve been excellent recently, they haven’t neccessarily been blowing sides away with 3 2-1 scorelines, a 3-1 and the aforementioned 2-0 win on Friday.

The hosts may have to be patient in this one, and take their time. Millwall offer a threat themselves, and Villa can’t afford to take Neil Harris’ men lightly.

Villa are incredibly short on the outright prices, so chucking in Under 4.5 Goals boosts them to a very respectable Evens.
