Charlton-aside, there isn’t a more dangerous opponent than Burton in League One. The Brewers are in excellent form, and they’ve been superb in recent weeks. Nigel Clough’s side have beaten Barnsley here at the Pirelli, and picked up a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light. They’ve come through some tough games lately, and they won’t be fazed by having to host high-flying Pompey.

Burton vs Portsmouth Preview and Betting Odds

Burton still harbour hopes of making it into the play-off picture. Typically, there is a latecomer who gatecrashes the top six, but it’s difficult to see any of the current occupiers slipping up between now and the end of the campaign. The Brewers just need to keep winning their games, and they will be confident of collecting three points here. Clough’s men took time to adjust to life back in the third tier, and that’s the reason why their late march could prove to be in vain.

They’ve recently seen off Barnsley here, drew at Sunderland in midweek, and eased past Scunthorpe last weekend. There was an evident gap in quality, and the men from the Pirelli scored some superb goals. They will give Pompey plenty to think about.

Portsmouth have been superb lately. After their mid-season wobble, they are firmly back on track, and no side will wish to face them in the play-offs come May. Kenny Jackett’s men have won six of their last seven matches, but they’ve only faced opponents in the bottom half during that run. Bradford, Walsall, Scunthorpe, Shrewsbury, Wycombe and Rochdale have all been dispatched, but this will be tougher. Barring a fixture against Accrington on the final day of the campaign, Pompey only have top-half opposition left to play, and they will be keen to avoid dropping any points here.

Burton have hosted six sides who are above them in the table, and won four of them, and they should take something from this clash. Burton Draw No Bet is attractively priced.

Our betting tip is Burton Draw No Bet for this League One game and the best odds are currently 21/20 with Bet Victor.

Burton vs Portsmouth Betting Tips

There are many Burton players who have been amongst the goals recently, with Liam Boyce scoring a cracker at the weekend, and busy midfielder Jamie Allen also chipping in recently. However, Lucas Akins always looks dangerous, and as the penalty-taker in the side, he looks decent odds on this one.

The 30-year old has netted 12 in all competitions this season, and has found the net in six of his last seven League One games.

Akins has netted in two of Burton’s last three home matches, and he also scored against Bradford back in January. He could be extremely dangerous here, and looks tempting in the anytime goalscorer market.

The third of our League One betting tips is Lucas Akins to Score Anytime, and he is 23/10 with Betfair to notch at any stage of the game.

Burton vs Portsmouth Goals Prediction – Both Teams to Score? Yes @ 5/6 with Sporting Bet

Since November 3rd, Pompey have kept just a single clean sheet on the road, and that came against Shrewsbury. Anyone who watched that game will know that Sam Rickett’s side had a real go, and they missed countless chances. It was a superb display from MacGillivray, and he somehow kept the Shrews off the scoresheet. They are likely to find Burton far more clinical here on Good Friday.

Since drawing a blank against Walsall, Burton have scored 11 times in three home matches, and they will fancy their chances of finding a way past their opponents here.

It ended 2-2 when they met earlier in the campaign, and another high-scoring, hugely entertaining 90 minutes is expected here.
