Aston Villa vs Bolton Predictions

Our weekend Championship predictions come from Villa Park with Dean Smith desperate to get his side back to winning ways on Friday night. Smith was victorious in his opening home game but the Villains have slipped to consecutive defeats on the road against in-form duo QPR and Norwich. They were fairly unlucky lose at Loftus Road and there is certainly still plenty to be positive about. Their form at Villa Park is solid with just one defeat here all season and have plenty of firepower in their side. Defence is still an issue however and just two clean sheets at home (including one against low-scoring Rotherham) is a concern. Luckily, they face an out-of-form side on Friday night and they couldn’t ask for a better time to face the Trotters. Phil Parkinson’s side made a good start to the season but they’ve since tumbled down the division and come off the back of another desperately disappointing result at home to Hull in a relegation six-pointer. They’ve lost four of their last five Championship matches and have found the net just twice in eight matches. They have the joint lowest total of 11 goals scored this season with over half of those coming in the opening four games of the campaign. At the other end, Bolton’s defence is quite well-drilled and they don’t concede an awful lot. Only top-of-the-table Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest have netted more than two goals against the side from the Macron and Villa may have to be patient. The hosts are a short price for this encounter and anyone who fancies something meatier than 4/9 will be forced to look elsewhere. With Bolton’s defence in decent shape, Aston Villa to Win and Under 2.5 Goals is tempting at 13/5 with Ladbrokes. It is a standout price and you can use their £50 free bet on this betting tip.

Aston Villa vs Bolton Both Teams to Score Betting Tips

Christian Doidge has been responsible for Bolton’s only strike in the last four matches. The Trotters have looked short on creativity and this might be an easy night for the Villa defence. Axel Tuanzebe has looked fairly assured since coming into the side and he has struck up a decent partnership with James Chester. Villa kept a clean sheet against Swansea in Smith’s first home game in charge and they only conceded once at Loftus Road last weekend. This seems like the perfect opportunity to collect just a third home clean sheet of the season. Both Teams to Score? No is priced at 3/4 with 888Sport and is the second of our Aston Villa vs Bolton predictions for Friday night.

Aston Villa vs Bolton Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tips

Tammy Abraham has suffered a few injury scares recently but he’s had the best of a week to ensure he’s ready for this clash and despite being favourite in the anytime goalscorer market, I still think he’s worth siding with. The striker thrives off decent service and with John McGinn, Yannick Bolasie and Albert Adomah potentially all in the same team, he is likely to get plenty of that on Friday night. He’s been in good goalscoring form and can add to his tally against the Trotters. Tammy Abraham to Score Anytime is priced at 11/10 with Betfred and is the third and last of our Aston Villa vs Bolton predictions.

Aston Villa vs Bolton Match Betting Preview

Aston Villa Win – 4/9

Draw – 15/4

Bolton Win – 13/2

[global_advert id=”37941″]

Aston Villa understandably begin as the 4/9 favourites for this game and even though it’s been a stop-start season for the former Premier League side, they should have more than enough to collect three points here. After a solid start to the season, Bolton’s recent form has tailed off and although Phil Parkinson has assembled a hard-working side full of endeavour, there is a lack of quality in the final third. When they win, it tends to be gritty and it’s 13/2 for them to pick up three points. The draw is available at 15/4.

The bookies are expecting goals and they’ve priced up Over 2.5 Goals at 4/5. Villa do have goals in their side but Bolton have experienced defenders in their side such as Mark Beevers and Jack Hobbs who will keep things tight throughout. Under 2.5 Goals is our preferred choice at Evens. Both Teams to Score? No has landed in seven of Bolton’s last eight games and is available at 8/11.

Our anytime goalscorer Tammy Abraham is the favourite in the first goalscorer market and is available at 15/4 to net the opener. He is ahead of Jonathon kodjia who may be deployed from the bench and is 9/2 to break the deadlock. The Frenchman might be a better anytime option. Scott Hogan is also available at 9/2.
