QPR vs Aston Villa Predictions

Our Championship predictions for Friday night begin at Loftus Road where in-form QPR host Aston Villa. It’s a quick turnaround for both of these clubs with the pair back in action with just three days rest. There were contrasting fortunes for each of these teams with Villa suffering their first defeat of the Dean Smith-era at Carrow Road whilst QPR continued their charge up the table with a third win in four. Steve McClaren deserves plenty of credit for turning things around in West London and the R’s have now kept three clean sheets in October. They netted three times against Sheffield Wednesday and although this is a quick turnaround, they will be full of confidence coming into this tie. Since conceding seven to West Brom, the former Newcastle and England boss has re-organised his back-line and it’s working well. Nakhi Wells and Tomer Hemed were also savvy additions in the final third and I believe that they can get something from this game. They’ve lost just one of the last five in front of their own fans and they will have nothing to fear on Friday night. Villa have won just four times this season but just one of those victories has arrived on the road. Only eight teams have a poorer record on their travels than Aston Villa and they are likely to be without the injured Tammy Abraham for this tie. Despite going in front, they conceded twice to Norwich and may come unstuck here. Dean Smith didn’t have a fantastic away record at Brentford and the Bees are still yet to win on the road. I’m going to stick with the in-form side and take QPR Draw No Bet at 10/11 with Betfred. It is the first of our QPR vs Aston Villa predictions for Friday night.

QPR vs Aston Villa Both Teams to Score Odds

QPR may be keeping clean sheets but Villa don’t do dull games. The Midlands side have netted in each of their seven away games this season and are yet to draw a blank in the Championship. BTTS has landed in each of their seven away matches so far this season and I can’t imagine that record ending here at Loftus Road. QPR drew 1-1 with Derby here at the beginning of the month and we could see a similar score-line in this match-up. Steve McClaren’s side don’t do many high-scoring games but Villa’s defensive frailties coupled with their array of options going forward making BTTS a sensible choice in this one. Both Teams to Score? Yes is priced at 5/6 with Sport Pesa and that is the second of our QPR vs Aston Villa predictions in the Championship.

QPR vs Aston Villa Anytime Goalscorer Odds

QPR’s use of the loan market has been part of the reason for their upturn in form. Tomer Hemed is one of two players who joined in August and Israeli striker is experienced at this level. For club and country, he’s netted in each of his last three games and he arrives here in a rich vein of form. He is also likely to take penalties and that could be handy with Villa’s clumsy defence in close attendance. He’s netted two of his three goals at this ground and can be backed at 2/1 with Bet365. He is the third of our QPR vs Aston Villa predictions.

QPR vs Aston Villa Match Betting Preview

QPR Win – 8/5

Draw – 9/4

Aston Villa Win – 17/10

[global_advert id=”37941″]

There isn’t much to separate these two sides in the betting with QPR priced up at 8/5 to pick up yet another three points. A win would propel them into the play-offs [for the time being] and that is a big incentive to perform to the highest standard once again. Villa will be desperate to bounce back after their midweek disappointment and they can be backed at 17/10 to do so. The draw is also likely to be popular at 9/4 although only one of the last five meetings has ended all-square.

Over 2.5 Goals would have landed for both of these teams in midweek and it’s Evens for this game to feature three or more goals. There should be plenty of chances with Villa always likely to pour forward at every opportunity. Scott Hogan is likely to fill the void left by Tammy Abraham although Jonathon Kodjia is also waiting in the wings. Under 2.5 Goals is available at 4/5.

QPR pair Tomer Hemed and Nahki Wells lead the way in the first goalscorer market with Israeli priced at 6/1 and the Bermudan available at 11/2. The aforementioned Jonathon Kodjia could get the nod here and is 13/2 to open the scoring whilst Scott Hogan is available at 7/1.
