Sheffield United vs Bolton Predictions and Betting Tips: Championship Preview

Sheff United predictions

Sheffield United vs Bolton predictions and betting tips for this Saturday afternoon Championship fixture on February 2nd with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

The Blades have been in decent form recently and their 2-2 draw with Norwich was another important point in their quest for promotion this season. Chris Wilder always enjoys the January transfer window and he’s strengthened his side already this month with Scott Hogan arriving on loan until the end of the season. The South Yorkshire side are incredibly well-stocked in the striking department now and they should have the tools to punish Bolton here. The Trotters pick up a decent point against Reading in midweek and they will be hoping to avoid a sixth straight away defeat here. Unfortunately, this one looks fairly straightforward for the hosts. Sheffield United vs Bolton Predictions

The Blades have been excellent at home this season and they’ve suffered just three defeats at Bramall Lane so far this campaign. A peculiar defeat on the opening day of the season to Swansea was followed by ten games unbeaten here and they are searching for their fourth consecutive victory in front of their own fans here. Luckily, their opponents Bolton are languishing at the bottom of the table and the home supporters will feel as though Phil Parkinson’s side are there for the beating. However, Bolton are fighting, they are scrapping and they’re digging in. They aren’t coming here just to roll over and I feel as though they could keep it tight. Bolton were thumped 6-0 by an in-form Hull side but the majority of their defeats have been by 1 or 2 goals. They’ve lost 2-0 on three occasions this season away from home and 1-0 on a further two. Their most recent outing was a 2-1 loss to Bristol City and I think that they can keep the score-line respectable here. Short-price backers can find Sheffield United to Win and Under 4.5 Goals at around 8/15 but we’re going for a Blades success with Under 3.5 Goals in the game and that’s a more palatable 5/6 with Ladbrokes. That’s the first of our Championship betting tips for Saturday afternoon.

Sheffield United vs Bolton Highest Scoring Half Prediction

On a number of occasions this season, Bolton have held out for long periods of the game before crumbling in the closing stages. Parkinson’s men start strongly and tend to end poorly. 60% of all goals home/away this season have come in the second half of their games and on the road, the majority of the action has taken place after the break. Both goals in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Reading came after the HT whistle and they shipped five of their six goals to Hull after the 62nd minute. Highest Scoring Half – Second Half is around 11/10 and this would have landed in six of Bolton’s last eight away games and it’s also paid out in two of Sheffield United’s last three home matches. It’s the second of our Sheffield United vs Bolton predictions.

Sheffield United vs Bolton Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tips

David McGoldrick went through an extremely profitable phase earlier in the campaign but the majority of the Blades’ recent goals have come from Billy Sharp. The vastly experienced frontman scored both goals last weekend and he’s in imperious form. He scored both goals when Bolton lost 2-0 on this ground in February 2017 and he is likely to be heavily involved once again. The 32-year is aiming to make it twenty goals in all competitions this season and I think this game provides the perfect platform for that milestone to be achieved. Billy Sharp to Score Anytime is the third of our Championship betting tips for Saturday afternoon.

Sheffield United vs Bolton Match Betting Preview

Unsurprisingly, the Blades are extremely short going into this match and they can be backed at 2/7 to pick up another three points here at Bramall Lane. Bolton have been known to cause some shocks this season and they can be backed at 9/1 to pick up a much-needed victory. It’s 17/4 to end all-square here.

The goals markets are fairly undetermined and it’s 10/11 for Over 2.5 Goals in this game. Sheffield United don’t concede many goals and this game could be a slow-burner. It’s also 10/11 for Under 2.5 Goals.

Our selection Billy Sharp is 3/1 to net the opener in this match and on current form, it’s difficult to write him off. He’s just ahead of team-mate David McGoldrick who is priced at 15/4 to break the deadlock. Gary Madine is 9/2 to net his first goal for Sheffield United against his former employers.
