Shrewsbury vs Wolves Predictions and Betting Tips: FA Cup Preview

Shrewsbury vs Wolves predictions and betting tips for this FA Cup fixture on Saturday 26th January with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

The FA Cup returns this weekend and there is a fascinating match-up as Shrewsbury host Wolves at the Mongomery Waters. The Premier League side will be hoping to avoid a sell-out in this local-ish derby but they will face a spirited Shrews outfit who will be playing in front of a sell-out crowd. Sam Rickett’s will be determined to get one over on his old side but will he be able to mastermind a giant-killing in the fourth round? See our Shrewsbury vs Wolves predictions below.

Shrewsbury vs Wolves Predictions

This game will provide Wolves with a tough task and they will not relish facing a fired-up Shrewsbury outfit. Nuno’s men did beat Liverpool in the last round but this provides a different approach and they are unlikely to ease through to the fifth round. The hosts have only lost three times at home this season despite having a change of manager halfway through the campaign. Only Sunderland, Bradford and Charlton have won here and although Wolves are a class above all of those sides, they won’t find it easy. The Shrews have a number of players who have dished out FA Cup upsets previously and they already have cup pedigree this season, beating Stoke in the previous round. They held the Potters to a 1-1 draw here and were probably unlucky not to have gone through at the first time of asking.

They haven’t lost an FA Cup tie here since February 2016 and I just think they are too big a price to ignore. I think they can at least take this game back to Molineux. Shrewsbury +1 Handicap is the first of our FA Cup betting tips for Saturday night.

Shrewsbury vs Wolves Anytime Goalscorer Betting Tips

I’ve been very impressed with Gary Docherty since he joined the club on loan and I expect him to play a big part here. The midfielder could also be on penalty duty in this game although the 22-year old hasn’t scored for a couple of games, I suspect he might have the quality to open up the Wolves defence in this one. He’s certainly impressed the home faithful and he can further endear himself to Salop fans with a goal here.

The midfielder is a tempting 23/4 with 888Sport to score anytime in this game and he is the second of our Shrewsbury vs Wolves betting tips.

Shrewsbury vs Wolves Goals Predictions

I don’t see this being a goal-heavy game and I think that Shrewsbury will aim to keep it tight, particularly in the first half. Their game against Stoke opened up very late and I see this going the same way. Wolves are likely to make a few changes but they will certainly carry a threat. It’s a game which is difficult to judge from a goals perspective and therefore going down the middle may be the best approach.

2-3 Goals Exactly is available at 21/20 with Bet Victor and looks a sensible option. This would have landed in each of Wolves’ last three away FA Cup matches and is the third of our Shrewsbury vs Wolves betting tips.

Shrewsbury vs Wolves Match Betting Preview

Wolves won 4-3 at the weekend and that victory has seen their price shorten for this FA Cup tie. Nuno’s men can be backed at 1/2 to progress to the fifth round of the competition and avoid a replay. It’s 3/1 to end all-square whilst Sam Rickett’s side are 6/1 to cause a second successive shock in the competition.

Both teams found the back of the net in the previous round of the competition and it’s 10/11 to land again here.

We don’t know what kind of team Wolves will play for this game but a number of their star players are likely to be involved. Raul Jiminez leads the way in the first goalscorer market at 9/2 and is followed by Diogo Jota, who is 5/1. He scored a hat-trick last weekend and will be hungry for more. Fejiri Okenabirhie is always a threat and he is 8/1 to net the opener.
