Mansfield vs Lincoln Predictions and Betting Tips: League Two Preview

Mansfield vs Lincoln predictions and betting tips for this Monday’s top-of-the-table clash in League Two on March 18th with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.

It remains hugely competitive at the top of League Two, and this game could go a long way to deciding which teams will finish in the top three. Lincoln sit top of the table having amassed 75 points so far, and the leaders arrive at Field Mill in excellent form. Mansfield have won just two of their last six games, but they’re very effective at home, and David Flitcroft’s side will make it tough for the Imps. See our Mansfield vs Lincoln predictions below.

Mansfield vs Lincoln Preview

Lincoln often get tarred with the ‘direct football’ brush, but Danny Cowley’s men have proved that they have a number of different styles throughout the course of the season. They’ve been excellent in recent weeks, with Bruno Andrade and John Akinde both playing significant roles in the final third. The Imps have also been imperious at the back, conceding just five goals in seven games, and they have kept back-to-back clean sheets against Yeovil and Oldham. Cowley often talks about the ‘togetherness’ and ‘collective spirit’ in the dressing room, and the players appear to be buying into it. They are unbeaten on the road since Boxing Day, and have only been beaten three times away from Sincil Bank. As well as being a crucial clash at the top of the table, there is also an element of local rivalry to this game. The pair are just under an hour apart, and it’s a short trip for those travelling fans on Monday night. Mansfield have been a little bit inconsistent lately, and they need to get back to winning ways. They were passed by MK Dons this weekend, who picked up a point against Stevenage, but they can call upon Tyler Walker who returns from suspension. Mansfield’s home form is exceptionally strong, but they’ve been conceding more goals than Lincoln in recent weeks. It could be close, and there won’t be much between them, so the Draw No Bet on Lincoln looks like the best option here. The Imps are flying, and they shouldn’t leave empty handed. It’s the first of our League Two predictions for Monday night.

Mansfield vs Lincoln Goals Prediction

There is plenty at stake, and it could be a tense ninety minutes. Ties between these sides have traditionally been close with just five goals scored in the last three meetings. Mansfield kept a clean sheet at Crawley last time out, but failed to find the back of the net. Lincoln’s effectiveness at the back in recent weeks suggests that they can nulify the threat of CJ Hamilton, Nicky Ajose and the returning Tyler Walker. Neither side will want to lose any ground here, and this may be settled by the smallest of margins. Under 2.5 Goals looks a decent price, and it’s available at 3/4. It is the second of our Mansfield vs Lincoln betting tips for Monday.

Mansfield vs Lincoln Anytime Goalscorer Tips

Bruno Andrade did go through a purple patch, but he’s not scored in four coming into this game. John Akinde has also been effectively lately, and despite his mid-season barren spell, he’s hit form at just the right time. His performance last week was described as “simply magnificant”, and fans will be hoping he’ll continue to be unplayable between now and the end of the season. He’s scored 15 in all competitions this season, and will be eyeing up the 20-goal mark. He’s scored three in his last four games, and could strike again. He is the third of our League Two predictions.

Mansfield vs Lincoln Match Betting Preview

Despite trailing their opponents by ten points, Mansfield have been priced up as the favourites, and can be backed at 7/5. They have been very effective at home this season, and many punters will be keen to keep them on-side here. Lincoln have been excellent in recent weeks, and are available at 15/8, whilst it’s 23/10 for the game to end all-square.

The bookies are expecting a relatively tight game, and Under 2.5 Goals can be backed at 3/4 here. Anyone who fancies a high-scoring, entertaining 90 minutes can get a generous price of 21/20.

Tyler Walker has been a terrific signing, and can be backed at 5/1 to open the scoring in this game. He’s the same price as his opposite number John Akinde. Nicky Ajose has struggled to recapture his Swindon form in recent years, but he has netted twice for his current club and is available at 7/1. It’s 17/2 for January signing Danny Rowe to break the deadlock for the visitors.
